The Beatles will always be my favorite band, but Rush is definitely in the Top 5 at #4 (the others: #2, The Rolling Stones, #3- Foo Fighters and #5- Queen). My Dad was a big Rush fan when I was growing up, and I kind of inherited that from him. Their lyrics reflected the moments I've been going through personally in my life, and I never got over trying to duplicate Neil's drumming.

Is Roll The Bones a Masterpiece of Recorded Music?
Carvan Alex replied to Entre_Perpetuo's topic in Rush
I wouldn't rank it as a masterpiece, but RtB has grown on me as a Top 5 album at #5. I seem to get somewhat attached to certain albums/songs even though they are not the best ones, but Roll The Bones speaks to me. Heresy is an underrated track IMO, with it's theme of learning to forget the past and embrace the future. I also like "Face Up" which is a great rocker on the level of Superconductor, and "Dreamline" is a great opener.- 35 replies

That's a great song! One of my favorites George did when he was with The Beatles.

Signals wins my vote as my favorite Rush album. It was the first one I really grew to like, especially that complicated drumming in "Subdivisions" made me want to attempt it myself. That whole album is actually good, and one of my personal favorite tracks is "Losing It."

What were the first few things in your Rush collection?
Carvan Alex replied to Mystic Slipperman's topic in Rush
My story of my first Rush collection goes way back to I think, 1999. My Dad exposed me to Power Windows and Moving Pictures during that time, and I loved those two. I then heard his "Show of Hands" cassette, and so when the Rush Remasters collection was coming around at that time, I bought "Signals" because it had Subdivisions which I really liked. He had done a fantastic job of explaining that song to me and it's lyrical meaning about peer pressure. And it was because of his explanations is why I grew to like Rush to this day. -
Rubber Soul gets my vote. "Drive My Car" is one of my favorite tracks as well as "Nowhere Man." It was the first album that felt whole.

Wasting Light was the album that got me INTO the Foo Fighters. I listened to that album nonstop to the point where it became an album that defined me. -

That's a real shame considering I am fan of their music as well. -
Well, I don't have a rank for all 19 albums, but I will rank the first Three: #1- Signals; #2- Clockwork Angels; and #3- Snakes and Arrows.

That movie was a full on BORE-fest for me. Even Affleck I felt couldn't save Batman as well as this movie.
