  1. Enjoyed them as a teen around the mid 80s, and remember hiding "that" 12" single from parents, for obvious reasons. First two albums have their moments, I Wanna Be Somebody, Wild Child, Blind In Texas, but after that nothing to hold your interest. Only saw them live once, Electric Circus tour 86, Newcastle City Hall, and to be honest, they were pretty poor. Highlight of the show was Blackie's "flaming codpiece", which even as an easily impressed teen, I thought was slightly stupid.
  2. Thanks for your recent posts, its taking me right back to the reviews in Kerrang magazine. Great days My first UFO and AC/DC gigs were on the back of these albums, with UFO on the Purple bill at Knebworth. Both albums are down near the bottom of their "best albums" list, but as a moment in time, always special to me....and really, that's all we need
  3. [Two classic live albums from 85 I've only become aware fairly recently what a poor front cover World Wide Live is. The lit up stage pick in the background may have been pretty good, but nah lets superimpose band members over the top of it. Then again, apart from Blackout and Tokyo Tapes, when did the Scorps ever have a decent cover ? The bonus disk with the reissued Love At First Sting and recorded at MSG, is actually a better album, in my opinion. The Maiden album is great...LONG BEACH DESTROYED MY HEARING !!! As a bit of trivia, I've often wondered who the person was who shouts Motherf***er before i think Flight of Icarus, and if he knows he's featured on the album ?']
  4. I must have seen the Innocence album cover loads of times, and only just noticed after 30 odd years that whilst the face is a photo, the hand and apple apparently isn't. Anyway, not a bad album but continued the decline started with Crusader. To be fair, its maybe a little better than Crusader, which apart from its title track, has very little to offer Still considering a trip to a Glasgow or Manchester gig next week.....3 hours or so drive, and not sure.....comments appreciated please Crusader UK tour first gig I went to without parents (first was 10cc), and will always remain special to me
  5. Die Young - Sabbath For Those About To Rock - AC/DC, the "we salute you" line
  6. In common with several of my slightly unusual album buying habits...(not buying the accepted classics first), this was the first Alice album I owned and I still like it
  7. Def some gems to be found on those first two, undeserved hate around here. Sometimes I look around to make sure I’m alone then I listen to Silent Night. Don’t tell anyone, I don’t want Neanderthals like LABT and Rick busting my balls. Have to admit that Silent Night is a guilty pleasure here too...always liked the "just turn and walk away" bit.
  8. Vigilante 35 years old today too and the last Magnum tour that I saw. Where did those years go? Great band and often overlooked, sadly
  9. Also first saw them 84 UK Kiss tour and they were good to be fair. Then saw them on the next 3 tours up to and including New Jersey, at Milton Keynes Bowl in 89 (when Donington was cancelled that year); but not seen them live since. Still have the first 4 albums, and occasional play the 1st (best ??) album, but never the full album. They were ok back in the 80s but havent aged well.
