  1. Very nice! I noticed they mentioned Saratoga and I'm going to assume that's Saratoga, NY, which means SPAC this summer! It'll be great to see them again since I didn't catch them on the 2012 tour. :)
  2. Are these "other musicians" playing almost 3 hour long sets of intricate and demanding music with such efficiency as Rush? Probably not, therefore that is "real[ly] tough" and they do deserve a break. likeclockwork makes a great point. Although it's just speculation, it does make sense as a potential scenario with all factors satisfied. These guys deserve a break and I'm sure they'll be back in full force after a break.
  3. Yup, my thoughts exactly! Maybe even stick in The Wreckers, but that's pushing it.
  4. Late to the game, but... Exactly. I love the song. Like you said, it's just a fun song to loosen up over. It's the exact opposite of Rush. It's fun to hear in the bars when I go out and it accomplishes it's purpose, which is a good dance song to dance and have fun with. People really need to loosen up.

QUOTE (tas7 @ Oct 25 2012, 05:47 AM) Up from 167 to 164 but Journeys biggest tits goes back up to 64.Surely people must have bought every copy.By the way are they in the RRHOF? I don't believe so. Last I heard, fans have been screaming for them to get in. Most, if not any, arena rock bands haven't been inducted.
  6. I was gonna go to this one (would have been my second Rush show), but finances weren't there at the moment as well as being on a Monday night, which makes it difficult with college. I'm hoping that they will tour in NY again on the second leg, hopefully at SPAC. Hearing everyone talking about this show makes me wish I found a way to see them at Barclay. Here's to hoping!
  7. I actually quite enjoy the song, especially musically. Sure, it's not Neil's best lyrics, but I never found areas to be cringeworthy as others suggest. (Although, with that said, I always focus more on the music than lyrics.) That's reserved for some of their earlier work and a few others sprinkled throughout their later career.
  8. If Rush does get in, I won't complain. It gives them more recognition, and they deserve that for their accomplishments.
  9. QUOTE (Rushfanman @ Sep 27 2012, 09:50 PM) The weakest song on the current tour is Manhattan Project, that tune should have stayed in the 80's. Why? It's an incredibly beautiful song with a powerful message that still has meaning, especially with how thing's are occurring today in the world. It's not a synth heavy song at all. It's very different and I believe the first time Rush incorporated a string ensemble/orchestra into their music. I don't believe a song has to be riff-heavy and fast in order to be a concert song. I bet many would disagree with you though. I have seen quite a few people who have been very responsive to the song.
  10. Voted CA by accident. GUP gets my real vote though. It flows nicely and just sounds cool, and the cover image only enhances that 'coolness'.
  11. Just noticed Tom Sawyer is also up for a vote on the 10th day: http://www.vh1.com/music/tuner/2012-09-24/...ard-100-day-10/ Currently in third behind Black Sabbath and Poison.
  12. Voted. EDIT: Currently Quiet Riot in the lead with 24.01% with Rush in a near second at 23.69%.
  13. QUOTE (ThinkingBig @ Sep 26 2012, 02:54 PM) QUOTE (dayglow76 @ Sep 25 2012, 08:10 PM) Yes.they always do 2 legs for a new album tour. Alex stated that if they played CA in it's entirety it wouldn't be until the 2nd leg. I think we can safely say, Alex is the most unreliable source for rumors and spoilers. In the Guitar Player article, he says they'll continue to play Camera Eye on this tour... ???? Durp. To be fair, that was said during rehearsals. It probably was trimmed for time, probably to Alex's dismay. As to the OP's question, I hope so. I put off going to see them for this leg because of financial reasons and also that they are performing too far from me.
  14. QUOTE (Supersyl @ Sep 19 2012, 08:44 PM)Actually, I think it's Geddy who's the more obsessive one... There's this notion that every Rush "problem" comes from Neil, but I've always believed they come more from Geddy... Look at Neil, with all his instructional DVD's, his jazz stuff, his motorcycle riding, his books, his internet postings... He gets all the bad rap, when honestly, I think it's Geddy dragging Rush down... He reminds me of people I know, who would never, at any cost try something just for the heck of it... Big Al doesn't care one way or the other... He's happy to be along for the ride, and enjoys every minute of it! I think it's a bit unfair to make that claim. I believe Geddy has mentioned many times before that he's a perfectionist and very methodical compared to Alex, so perhaps there is the potential that he may be less lenient with band affairs (e.g. what songs performed). But you also have to remember that Geddy doesn't have just one role in the band. He's playing 3 instruments: bass, keyboards/pedals, and also performing vocal duties. He has a lot on his plate (only increasing the already present pressure), so it's only natural to potentially be stricter. Of course, all speculation. No actual proof on who is or who isn't stricter with band affairs and it would be unfair to fervently state such.
  15. I always believed he sung those parts live. The only part that looks and sounds like 'miming' is during the blues section of Clockwork Angels. I could be wrong though.
