  • Best Rush Experience
I first heard Rush in my best friends bedroom when we were 13. His older brother had got the first album, and we loved several of the songs. Then Fly by Night came out and we were totally hooked. A few years later my roommate and I introduced my wife to be to Rush. My cousins in law are on the cover of Exit Stage Left, my wife, my roommate, and I are hidden by the curtain. We saw the Signals tour from the third row and the Grace Under Pressure show from the seventh. We love everything they do, from the hardest, rawest three piece rock and roll, to the lush studio only pieces awash in a sea of synths, all of it. However, the most profound effect Rush has had on my life is Neils heart breaking and heart mending expression of his love for his family and us in the form of Ghost Rider, Travels on the Healing Road. Of all the things my wife did and read after the passing of her mother, this book helped more than all the rest combined. It rescued her. Thank you, Niel.

  1. QUOTE (Two0neOneTwo @ Jun 26 2012, 06:35 PM) Actually that's a great novel to compare to. Modern/yet funky. If Owen were the gunslinger, perfect. I think he's more like Jake. The unwilling but capable hero.
  2. QUOTE (treeduck @ Jun 26 2012, 06:06 PM)QUOTE Don't tell me about The Dark Tower, I've not read the last three volumes yet...even though I first read the first volume back in 1987... You must re-read and finish the series. Stick with it even when you're saying "where the hell is he going with this?' in your head. Steve brings it home in a huge way.
  3. Led Zepplin July 20, 1977 Tempe, AZ US A.S.U. Activities Center Arena Setlist: The Song Remains The Same, (The Rover intro) Sick Again, Nobody's Fault But Mine, Over the Hills and Far Away, Since I've Been Loving You, No Quarter, Ten Years Gone, Battle of Evermore, Going to California, Black Country Woman, Bron-Y-Aur Stomp, Trampled Underfoot, Black Mountainside ~ Kashmir, Jimmy Page solo, Achilles Last Stand, Stairway to Heaven. How many ways can I say they sucked? From Bonham being incoherent, to Paige being too high to play, Robert trying to hit notes he no longer could, and poor John trying to hold them together.
  4. Best film of the series, really it couldn't not be.
