  1. In late September, I went to my favorite concert bar called the High Dive, which is located in the Fremont neighborhood of Seattle. There was no reason in particular, I just wanted to see some live music and the High Dive rarely disappoints. Long story short, I looked up each band playing that night on spotify. The band which played second instantly caught my attention. They were Transit Method and promoting their latest release We Won't Get Out of Here Alive, in the southwest and west coast of the US. I have a hard time describing a band, but I came across this quick review of their latest album and it pretty much sums up what I would say. YouTube Links (they have all their music on Spotify too): Artificial Genesis - Snake Wine - Parsight - Roach - Anyways, I've been a fanboy of theirs ever since I saw them. And yes, they can play live -- really, really good. Like Rush, Transit Method's songs have to be listened to a few times before you realize how great they really are. The radio hit's are Snake Wine and Parsight, with one of my favorites being Worlds Apart. Like the review above suggests, Clones is probably most similar to Rush, but by no means is a copy. They're just a bad ass Prog Rock trio doing their thing. Enjoy!
  2. Look at any fan message board of a band, comedian or TV show - all are the same when it comes to things like this. There are always complainers and fanboys and little in between. Fan boards attract complainers of new material so they can express their opinion and look for those who agree with them. People who are satisfied with new material don't come by as often because they're too busy enjoying the new stuff. It's the reason I'm an occasional message board lurker rather than poster.
  3. Very interesting. 2112 as an opener would be awesome and appropriate. I'd hope they put in Grand Finale on this tour though. To critique your wish list, I think Lock and Key and Half the World would be hard to play live to their full extent. Also, as much as I like Mystic Rhythms, it's a bit of a snoozer live to the average fan. My wish list of songs include Emotion Detector and The Pass. Jacobs ladder wouldn't hurt either.
  4. I've seen multiple topics on the blue ray, DVD and CD, but nothing on the LP (record) of Moving Pictures they released I got the LP with the DVD I preordered. The LP is just a rip of the audio from the DVD; no changes made to it at all. Great sound from it. I have a Kenwood receiver hooked up to four Sansui 280-watt speakers my dad gave me a few years back. All my audio equipment is from 1979 and everything works perfectly to this day I put the record on the turntable, set the volume to 3 (yes, 3 - anything past that and my ear drums start to collapse) and was blown away. I constantly find myself listing to records these days (and I'm 21 years old) and adding Moving Pictures live was a great buy.
  5. QUOTE (Tigershark2112 @ Nov 9 2011, 02:58 PM) Posted this question in another thread, but does anyone else notice blue-spotting, seemingly pasted onto where there seems to be a lot of glare? I've seen this in many concert DVD's, not just Rush ones. Snakes and Arrows live had the same problem. It must be that type of light which shows bad on film because this isn't the first live concert DVD I've seen this happen to.
  6. Just to add a figure in late, on the original showing date here in Redmond (suburb of Seattle) there was about 60 people. Great crowd; all hardcore Rush fans. Singing along, air drumming, constant cries to theatre management to "Turn it up!," which they ultimately did after Presto. Good times
  7. I only saw this DVD once during the movie theater release, but my gripe is there was A LOT of out of focus shots. At least that's what I remembered. I'm getting the DVD in the mail today and will review again (and again, and again, and again...). However, that was my only gripe. I'd say this is the best live concert they've released in their modern era.
  8. Personally, I love the polka intro for La Villa. I knew the set list before seeing them last tour, but the intro totally threw me off. I thought it was them goofing off, and then shortly after I realized it was La Villa, and I went crazy. Love it.
  9. I actually LIKE the Gorge and can't wait! Glad they're playing there on a Saturday, otherwise I think attendance figures would be dismal. No word on the Vancouver BC show though? I was looking forward to a mini holiday and Rush concert there.
  10. They're way overdue to do a YVR show (Vancouver BC), but that's been announced already, just no date yet. I'd love to see them at the Gorge Amphitheater (Eastern Washington state) again. During the 2008 tour I saw lots of license plates from Idaho, Oregon, BC, Montana, and a few from Cali. Everyone likes the Gorge! Even Neil, IIRC.
  11. I'd like the following: Mal Nar La Villa Kid Gloves Just sayin'...
  12. Taking into account the boy's age, this is a perfectly doable set list: * "The Spirit of Radio" * "Time Stand Still" * "Cinderella Man" * "Between Sun & Moon" * "The Pass" * "Leave That Thing Alone" * "Territories" * "BU2B" * "Freewill" * "Marathon" * "Subdivisions" Intermission * "Tom Sawyer" * "Red Barchetta" * "YYZ" * "Limelight" * "The Camera Eye" * "Witch Hunt" * "Vital Signs" * "Caravan" * "Drum Solo" * "Alex Solo / In The End" * "Xanadu" * "Far Cry" Encore: * "Malignant Narcissim" * "La Villa Strangiato" * "Kid Gloves"
  13. This Seattle resident is patiently awaiting the West Coast dates to be announced. I'd love to go up to Vancouver BC to see a show - beautiful city. Also considering seeing a show out east, maybe Baltimore? But what the heck is up with "a very special return play in Los Angeles." Makes me wonder. I treat every Rush tour like it's last, and I think more here should too. I'm not confident a Clockworks angles tour is 100%.
  14. When I first heard Force Ten I was hearing "Attack the gay like birds of prey." I was really shocked and looked up the lyrics. Ha, that was a good laugh.
