TRF's possibly first official Beatles thread!

Recommended Posts

Did a search and could not find a thread dedicated to the most famous music group of all time. Here's a starter question. What are you top ten Beatles songs, or just what's you favorite Beatles song if you can't decide on ten.

And go!

A good thread on this day, Revolver's 50th birthday.

Plus it reminded me of a thread I've been considering starting (top ten Tull tunes).

I don't have a favourite Beatles song.

I tried once to come up with one stand out but I couldn't choose between around 50-60 songs.

Honestly this band is everything. Definitely the greatest band of all time. That doesn't make them my favourite, but then again no way am I going to say Lacuna Coil top the Beatles haha

And Rubber Soul, Revolver and the white album may be the best albums I have ever heard.

Again not saying my favourites...but then again maybe I should...

I met Prudence Farrow about 12? years ago at a party. They live about 15 miles from me in Seaside, Florida.

Very strange meeting someone who a song was written about. She is a nice old hippie these days.

Think she wrote a book recently ..

The white album is my favorite album of all time.......easy.

Masterpiece.

Mick

I had a friend on Sunday tell me it's the only album of this band he doesn't own and that it's rubbish.

Believe me...I handled it badly haha

Thing is this album is a mess. It is unfocused. It is sometimes really silly.

But it's glorious in every single way and as far as I am concerned above any criticism.

It's always been a joy to me.

the random unfocused nature IS the joy for me.

it's 4 solo albums really.....but it works.

i've often said the albums like a collection of short stories or 1 act plays.

I really enjoy hearing an artist that hasn't really grabbed me in the past, and being struck by something wgreat that I had been missing ..

Segue inspired me to revisit Bruce Springsteen, and I have found a lot of great music I had overlooked ..

I am looking forward to that with The Beatles

I think my fav is probably Here Comes The Sun. It was in my senior year marching show, it's my favorite song on Abbey Road, which is my favorite Beatles album, and it's just so happy and uplifting. I love a ton of their other tunes as well, but Here Comes The Sun tops the bill for me, but not by much.

Me and you have the same mindset.

I am always eager to revisit artists I can't stand.

For example: Peter Gabriel. I am sure in time I will enjoy his work.
