The Official Cheesy 1970's Song Appreciation Thread

Recommended Posts

Ok, people we all know you secretly love those cheesy songs from the 1970's

And to help educate our younger posters, let's see um, hear um. Bring on your best

I'm not talking Queen, The Who, Elton John...no siree Bob....

I'm talking bands, singers who were on the front page for such a short period of time, they had to go work at Kinney Shoes or Service Merchandise to pay the bills ..or play the VFW tour circuit,

Bring It On !!

This thread is going to read like my choices on the Top 1000 of the 70s list

TRF is like the Apollo Moon Program with built in redundancies. It's a safety thing.

Already two of the best examples have been given.

Going to have to dig into my early elementary school and kindergarten memories to post in here.

It's not a race Blaze....take your time.

I'm 48 we are probably in the same neighborhood mentally... :haz:

Yeah, mentally I'm probably like an 11 year old. I'd give you a couple of years on me. ;)

Ok, I nearly hurt myself searching for this memory. It was wedged somewhere between my Evil Knievel stunt bike toy and Arnold Horshack's laughter.

You probably know since you are a hip guy, but she is Maya Rudolph's (from SNL) mom! My sister and I used to try to out scream each other on this song. Ouch.

Never heard of Maya Rudolph.

Haven't watched SNL since the early 90s...and I already disliked it then. Maybe I'm not so hip after all.

Coincidentally, my wife and I imitate this song from time to time. I can't come anywhere close to that high so she tells me (in order to reach those notes) that I might have to squeeze myself...down there.

I remember the original Charlie's Angels. I remember the new Angel being Cheryl Ladd. I remember her being in a bikini top then sitting in a hot tub in the intro. Those are my most impressive memories. Everything else I have to dig for.

Actually, the air isn't all that fresh out here but I do exercise a lot and drink a tons of water. I'm off to the gym now as a matter of fact.

But first, just to check my Cheryl Ladd 70s memories...

I think I "appreciate" Cheryl Ladd even more now.

I gave a girl a ride in my wagon

She crawled in and took control

She was tired 'cause her mind was a-draggin'

I said, get some sleep and dream of rock and roll
