If I bought it I'd get rid of that industrial looking staircase and put something more tasteful in that matched the building.

I actually like the contrast between the old and modern :).

Same here,

I wouldn't change it. I think it looks cool. :D

:AlienSmiley:

Do you know how old it is?

Wow! Soooo nice. Of course, Lorraine will want to add a few of her own pieces, to decorate. Maybe something like this?

No the very top is the place where you look out at the view and below that is that empty room, everything else is below these levels.

There's more than one bathroom. There's two bathrooms and a wet room which is basically another bathroom so three altogether.

Treeduck, I will tell you the truth - I'd give anything to live in a place that looked like that. It's right my alley - looks monastic, has actual radiators (which are dying out here in the USA - they put out the most and best heat), heavily treed property, lovely pond and plenty of room for my Rush brothers and sisters (as ReGor already pointed out!:)). But why did they build so many other places around it? That must have once been their property and they sold it off. That's a shame. Do you have property taxes in England? If so, what would the yearly property taxes be on a place like Hadlow?

I'm wondering too if the previous owners are related to my previous neighbors. They, too, produced porn films. The company that had the horrid task of cleaning out and up the place when they were evicted said they left some dvds behind. They said it was so bad not even they could watch it.

As for my old home, it looks like a giant supermarket cart. Too Frank Lloyd Wright-ish for my tastes.

Well how do you mean places around it? You mean buildings? Or the houses in the village?

Originally the place was owned by some rich guy who built the tower either as a status symbol or to lock his wife in when he found out she was having an affair with a local farmer.

During WWII it was used as a lookout spot.

Treeduck, what was this place originally?

That's not a lot of money for it either. I'm sure exactly, but that would be about $2,500,000.00 USA money.

I think you can afford it. I think the reason it's so relatively cheap is the upkeep on it is astronomical long term, it costs more to keep it looking good than the cost of the property! I mean you would probably be fine living there for a few years while everything was up to date, but after 15-20 years you might find you'd need to raid your bank account.

What bank account? We don't have one to raid.

I would think it costs a fortune to heat too. It would be cool in the summer though, although your summers aren't as hot as ours. Come to think of it, your winters aren't as cold as ours either.
