Morley Safer was a legend, and his work in Vietnam was groundbreaking

 

What does it say about us that people who are considered defective are instinctively caring and compassionate?

People miss real journalism instead of soapboxy BS.

This is true. Too many people are interested in controversy, I think- even when it's completely manufactured.

 

There is still quality TV journalism going on, but it's on a half-hour block of time on the national evening news (ABC/NBC/CBS), and that's it. Back when those programs were the main (or only) source of that kind of content, the people who reported it were highly esteemed.

 

I really hope that breed of journalism doesn't die altogether.

I remember my parents (Dad mostly) watching NBC evening news with Chet Huntley David Brinkley http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j223/OldRUSHfan/Characters/Chet%20Huntley%20amp%20David%20Brinkley%20news%20anchors%20for%20NBC.jpg RIP Morely!!!
