JohnRogers
Anyone use politesse in their everyday vocabulary??? Know a rock lyric that uses it? What I put before you is my cigar lounge's Guide to Politesse. These "rules" will be posted on signs around the lounge. Please critique or make suggestions. : The Golden Rule abides, treat others as you would want to be treated. : A gentleman knows how to handle his liquor. We serve gentlemen and ladies. : We don't pour shots. There are no shot glasses. Our spirits are meant to be sipped and savored. : East Village Lounge is a free speech zone but please keep your speech among your own immediate party. No one should have to listen to your vulgarity. : No beverages or smoking in the humidor. : If you bring in your own cigar please inform one of the staff, then consider buying one of ours or a beverage from the bar. : East Village Lounge is a cigar lounge first, second and third. It is not a rowdy tavern.

JohnRogers
I use politesse in my everyday vocabulary, but then again, I speak French.I looked up synonyms for etiquette and thought "oh yeah use this". The word adds an aire of sophistication. Edited April 24, 2016 by JohnRogers

blueschica
Politesse is in Sympathy for the Devil, but maybe you knew that already! ;) (And I'm not implying that you are the devil for asking others to use their politesse . . :D ) your list sounds like the cigar lounge is a very pleasant place to be!"So if you meet meHave some courtesyHave some sympathy, and some taste(Woo woo)Use all your well-learned politesseOr I'll lay your soul to waste" Edited April 24, 2016 by blueschica

Hopefully neither of us is singing, "There's a bathroom on the right!" :)
