What do you think is the most underrated Rush album solely considering Geddy's bass playing? Why?

The synth era had some of his most technically proficient bass playing that I feel only works with the tinnier tone of the Steinberger and the Wal. When Ged uses the overdriven Fender sound, it doesn't sound right.

HYF Baby........all day.

Mick

Yep. It's the pinnacle, in my opinion.

I also agree with Lucas, in a relative way. Geddys's musical contributions to the debut album were fantastic, and largely unrecognized- but I would have to add the caveat that I think his proficiency during the '80s was superior to where his playing was at age 20.

Power Windows. The bass work on The Big Money, Marathon, Territories, and Middletown Dreams is so awesome. I love to play PoW songs!

Hm, and the poll seems to agree with the fact that I made this thread after listening to HYF, nice.

Me, I can't decide. I can choose favorite albums and songs overall, but oddly I can rarely find the slightest fault with what any individual instrument or vocal is doing in the music, usually impressed, albeit in many different ways.

Depends on who you think is doing the ratings.

Geddy has always turned in stellar bass parts for all of their albums.

I mean, really, come on people, Geddy is the best bass player of all time, none of the albums are really that underrated. However, if I could just choose one, it would definitely be Hold Your Fire. The bass work on that is top notch.
