Posted ImageYou see the 'colorful' part right? Not quite in sharp focus, but you get the idea!

The color is vermillion, according to Vallejo paints...and aluminum and flat black.

What do you do to get parts to come apart if they've been glued incorrectly?

In the past, I always chech immediately after gluing the part together, and reglue it correctly.  I'm to much of a perfectionist to settle for less...

I think you need to pay greater attention to detail.

Awesome work buddy. I think your patience is extraordinarily.

Painting again today... I realize that I understand pointed brushes as far as detail work goes in painting....it makes it much easier, and NEAT. an education on what to buy and why after all these years...

Both engines, nearly finished.  and both armor plates for the engines.  These have to be added, and the radiators, and then I can move on to the flight deck/cockpit.
Posted Image
Posted ImageThese armor plates are to protect the engines from frontal attack.

Here's a peep at the 'Concept Book' that is made for each of the Zoukei-Mura model aircraft. They find a surviving aircraft, and study and photograph what they can.  With the He 219 A-2 at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center of the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum. First, a photo from the actual Aircraft's User Manual of the Hoods used by the Radar operator to view what the antenna display as aircraft that need to be shot down.Posted Image1st hood is for the FuG 212 radar scope, and the one to the right is for the FuG 220 radar scope. Closer pic of the ONLY hood found in the He 219 A2, is here. Both lenses at the bottom of this hood are mounted to view the FuG 220 radar.
Posted Image

Here is MY renditions of these two parts.

The cover of the Zoukei-Mura Concept book of the He 219 A-0 model.  the smaller radar antenna set in the middle of the nose cover is the FuG 212 radar, while the larger set on the larger four extension bars are the FuG 220 antennas
