I said earlier that You Love Me 'Cause I Hate You was a really weak track.

If I am honest, it would make an excellent single. It has an incredibly current sound.

And I am going to come out and say it: this album will not please those turned off by Andrea Ferro. Because this is HIS album, the highlight of his career.

Cristina Scabbia also blew me away, I will be honest it took a few spins but she is singing in a manner that I never would have expected ten years ago. Sharper, less ethereal and in your face. Her higher register is stunning, and I doubted she could pull it off life but live videos prove she is nailing these songs live! Her aggressive approach coupled with Andrea's ballsy approach may have reached a new peak!

Ghost In The Mist is another song that I cannot get enough of. It takes me straight back to the likes of Tightrope or 1:19 but takes it even further.

And the electronics! I am so in love with it!

Yes, I am enamoured with this new album. It really is as unexpected as Shallow Life but this time, they pretty much nail it perfectly! (Do not get me wrong, I love Shallow Life but I would have to rank it the least wonderful studio release to date, and I hope it stays that way!)

I'm listening to Delirium right now. I reminds me a lot of Comalies. You're right, it's a great track! Very good!

I look forward to you hearing the album! Believe me when I say that all three prerelease songs come to life on the album!

After a day of listening to Delirium, I am still enthralled by it, but will say I still think Dark Adrenaline and Broken Crown Halo were stronger albums.

Not sure if this is a 7 or 8/10, but I have a hard time saying it is a weak album, but overall as much as I am enjoying it it lacks a certain something that moves me inside. First Lacuna Coil album to ever NOT hit me emotionally on any level at all.

But it's strength lies in its bombast and energy, which oddly reminds me of Shallow Life's unashamed sense of commercialisation, only this time it is more in the vein of "look how loud we are!".

For all the hype that this record was going to be heavy, and dark, and emotional, I actually found this to be one of the lightest efforts yet. It lacks the poetic nature of the early records, and it never EVER comes close to the likes of My Spirit, One Cold Day or Falling Again.

I hesitate to say it lacks emotion, but this album is all about the style. Which is perfectly fine because this is another addictive and surprisingly energising LC classic, with a totally new flavour.

Very interesting point.

Today I slept with the Ep's songs in my head and I woke up with them in my mind again.

I have to listen! Is quite melodic, I simply adore it!

No luck for me on finding the album yet. (I'm not asking where you found it, Segue, no worries). I just have to wait a couple more days until it's released here.

Does that have the cover of Live To Tell?

So, why is there an explicit lyrics warning for this album? I've only heard one f word in Claustrophobia.

My Demons as well...

Yes the deluxe has three bonus tracks. And often LC leave off better songs than they put on.

*cough* Shallow Life *cough*

I'm coming out of my exile breifly to just comment on the album.

So this album After 2 listens so far confirms what i thought upon hearing the 3 singles.

totally not the kind of album i wanted from these guys.

it's way to in your face. and it tries to.......HARD. lol

Like it gave me a headache 3 tracks in.

to much and not enough breathing room.

And yes i was right. Andrea is an ingredient best used for flavor.......not as the main dish.

Yes i'm hungry, lol.

I agree this is the worst album for those who dislike Andrea.

But...his input is actually my favourite aspect of this album!

My main complaints are simple: this is such a fun album, but emotionally I find little to grasp onto.

But it's a really fun record! It's easily going to be on my regularly played list this year.

I just think for all the hype darkness, this album feels more like an excuse to rock out than to bleed out feelings.

But I really love the fun and energetic side of this album, and Cri and Andi are really impressing me live with these songs.

But...for all my praise...Broken Crown Halo was so much better. So much...but again these are surprisingly two very different albums.

oh yea......i'm not mad at the band.

it's obvious they just wanted to have fun. i feel like this is a tounge in cheek dark album, ln retrospect i don't think they're trying to hard.

this is exactly what they wanted. it just won't get played by me to often, lol

I actually feel the same.

I really like this...but I ended up replaying Halflife (the EP) a lot more (which kind of sounds like a prototype for Delirium, which is odd as it predates Unleashed Memories, and is much better at five songs than this whole album!).

But this is pretty much a lot better than I expected.

It's hard to explain just how happy I am for this album AND that I am underwhelmed at the same time...it's fantastic even though it isn't what I necessarily want from this band haha!

Delirium is really growing on me...

Starting to wonder if they have been itching to release am album like this for years, as this is self produced and they really sound like they are on top of the world!

The Madonna cover is BEAUTIFUL!

It oddly sounds more like Lacuna Coil than anything off the album...easily close to topping Enjoy The Silence. May even top it...

Already improved Delirium for me.

Breakdown is excellent as well.

Starting to think Lacuna Coil decided to leave off the most Lacuna Coil sounding songs on purpose...Breakdown reminds me a little of Virtual Environment and Zombies.

Excellent...

Bleed The Pain is excellent as well...

Well the bonus tracks are every bit as good as the rest of the album, and I enjoy Breakdown and Bleed The Pain more than a few tracks off the standard edition.

The Madonna cover honestly is beautiful.

I simply adore special edition albums with bonus tracks, I already know which edition I'll purchase, Segue! :)

The Madonna cover really does sound like a traditional LC slowie, ala Falling Again, One Cold Day, Humane.

Playing Delirium again.

I really like it a lot. I am finding myself more and more drawn to this album. It feels as much a departure in many ways as Shallow Life, which I said before, only they execute these style shifts with aplomb!

And Downfall is beautiful!

Those who don't like Andi should leave now...but I adore his presence and his vocals really prove to be a strength in this album. He is as much a part of LC's sound as Cri.

My honest current rankings for all LC's albums at this moment:

1. Karmacode

=. Unleashed Memories

3. Comalies

4. Broken Crown Halo

5. Dark Adrenaline

6. Lacuna Coil EP

7. In A Reverie

8. Halflife EP

9. Delirium

10. Shallow Life

Now...I feel bad saying Delirium is second to last, but I have to be honest: I really, REALLY enjoy it! It's definitely one of the best albums I have heard in the last two years, and for most bands I would be overjoyed...it just misses a little something.

Which is the melancholy that I just crave...BUT I HONESTLY ADORE SHALLOW LIFE, SO TAKE SECOND TO LAST AS A COMPLIMENT!

I also think, because Broken Crown Halo still sounds so fresh to my ears, adjusting to Delirium is going to take time.

It's honestly already making a huge mark on my current listening habits. It is even blowing me away!

But it has some way to go before it knocks around with the big boys!

That Madonna cover is really good. I remember back when I was a kid the original version getting rotation on MTV all the time. I know the song by heart to this day because of that.

They did slow it down slightly, it was a slower song to begin with, and the vocal delivery is tweaked a little because of it. Took me a minute to get used to that but much like their cover of Enjoy The Silence, they gave the song their own flavor while staying true to the original song. That's the perfect way to do a cover.

The other two songs are solid as well but I get why they were left off the main track listing. They seemed to me like they lacked a little bit of punch that the rest of the album has. As is the case with most bonus tracks, I think the band probably felt those two songs didn't fit in quite right with the main song order, so they used them as bonuses instead.

The chorus to Broken Things is in my head right now and that's not a bad thing at all.

Replaying the bonus tracks, they were right. (Still won't forgive them for what they did to those Shallow Life bonus tracks!).

I think Delirium is going to be a bit of a dark horse for me!

Its just so new.

YES I KNOW THIS IS OBVIOUS!

But after Shallow Life, Dark Adrenaline and, to a slightly lesser extent, Broken Crown Halo, I have grown accustomed to not feeling challenged.

Right now...it's got a strong but somehow fairly tepid reaction from me.

But it will take a few spins! So far, so positive.

Ut another part of me is like WHOAH WHO IS THIS?!

It's really delightful!

I'm like a confused but happy puppy right now.
