After a fairly long stint of unsatisfying companionship from my friends in the music club where I spent most of my time when I'm not in class, I randomly mentioned that I can't play guitar but that I want to learn how.

Cue 3 metalheads surrounding me and, in the space of two hours, teaching me how notes work and a few power chords, as well as a little bit of ukelele.

My fingers hurt. But it made me happy.

Glad you enjoyed yourself!!! I've only seen them once, on 'The Black and Blue' tour with Blue Öyster Cult in 1980, during Dio's stint as vocalist...

Well I'm officially jealous then! This was my first time seeing Sabbath or Ozzy.. they played pretty good and Ozzy was into it but he looked tired! Near the end of the show I caught him stretching his back and he looked like he need a nap but that Ozzy spirit was still there! "LET ME SEE YOUR f***ing HANDS IN THE AIR!!!!!" LOL all in all it was a pretty wicked show!

My 84-year-old mom helped me with the last of the demo in my new house. (Mostly I'm thrilled my parents are still as active as they are at that age.) The contractors start on Monday to put everything back together.

Took my youngest to a (successful) audition/interview for a university place to study music next year and had lunch with my younger daughter, who is living and studying in Southampton.

I didn't have anything to do this morning so I just laid in bed for almost an hour after I woke up. I think I dozed off again, too. I usually get up as soon as I awake so this felt very indulgent.

Also, it just started pouring hard! This is our first real rain of the year and it's wonderful. It's supposed to drop a couple feet of snow in the mountains, and that's even better.

Out here in the West we want all the rain/snow we can get (within reason) :)

Got one of my reference books, 'Building and Detailing Model AIRCRAFT' to help me remember stuff I learned long ago, and teach me stuff I didn't know! May get another before day is through! http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j223/OldRUSHfan/Yay%20%20Woo-Hoo%20%20etc/woohooyellow.gif
