Slaine mac Roth
QUOTE (Trance @ Aug 26 2005, 09:18 PM) Boomtown Rats - Rat Trap I have never heard of that song or group The Boomtown Rats, led by Bob Geldoff, were quite well known in the UK during the Punk era of the late 70s-early 80s. They had a few hits like She's So Modern, Like Clockwork, Someone Looking At You as well as two number ones (the aforementioned Rat Trap and I Don't Like Mondays). Out of all the Punk bands, they were, along with The Stranglers, The Clash, Elvis Costello and the Attractions and The Buzzcocks, one of the melodic Puink bands, relying on their music rather than screaming and spitting at the audience to gain popularity. I must confess that Rat Trap (which I think I still have on an original 7" single) was a fantastic song.
Midway Hawker
Engelbert Humperdink - The Last Waltz. (09/27/1967) Whenever I see the name "Humperdink", all I can think of is the movie The Princess Bride where Carol Kane is yelling at Billy Crystal "Humperdink, Humperdink, Humperdink, Humperdink, Humperdink, Humperdink, Humperdink, Humperdink, Humperdink, Humperdink!!!" And Billy, plugging his ears, says, "I'm not listening, I'm not listening!!"
