Am I the only person here who's bothered by the fact that Alex never plays the Earthshine solo live the way it was recorded? As a result I've always felt Earthshine is quite weak live.

Not a fan here either way. There is something about it that is grating whether live or stuio. This statement would fit just as well in the unpopular opinions thread...

I prefer the live solo to the studio version honestly!

I love the live version so I'll have to listen to the studio against it to compare.

Being that the studio version contains multi-tracked guitar parts, there would have to be two or three Alex's on stage to perform the song exactly like it was done on the album.

Yes, you're the only one who is bothered.

I just listened to both studio and R30...I'm so NOT bothered with either...

I feel like I'm being personally trolled with all the Earthshine threads!

One of the few tunes from that album I actually liked!   I thought the live version was great, actually!

There really isn't what I'd call a solo anywhere on VT, which Is why I vastly prefer the live versions.

It is never played "live" at all....there are far too many samples both vocally and guitar wise for it to be considered thus.

It's hardly a solo, but I like that part on the album.

Not at all bothered but I am very much partial to the album version... from the moment I heard I thought it was achingly beautiful.

Thought that Alex's R30 solo was actually pretty neat. That's my favorite version of that song. More so than Rio.
