R45 Tour: Neil Peart Hologram

So last night I'm home chilling like a boss, got my SoCo and Pepsi, watching a lousy "Trek fan film" and I got to thinking. If the technology existed would you accept a hologram Neil Peart playing on the R45 tour??? Neil has a holosuite in his home, the roadies set up hologram emitters on stage.

Yes or No?

Can I have holograms of Geddy, Alex and Neil playing the show sent straight to my living room (I'd rent the receiving tool)? Edited by geezer

Are you serious? I have to think so...

No, no, no, a thousand times no.

(A thousand is not even enough!).

No thanks. I think they should not even think about touring anymore. They went out on a high note, that's enough. Edited by EagleMoon

Honestly though, I don't think that's how THEY think. I think they're done when they don't want to do it anymore (maybe now, maybe later) and NOT because the last time was awesome.

I didn't say that. Neil obviously wants to quit touring. Geddy obviously wants to keep going, and I get the feeling that Alex would like to but he didn't seem as gung-ho. The thing is, even if they feel like touring maybe they shouldn't. There are bands out there today doing the casino circuit that are just pale versions of what they used to be. I can't see Rush doing that.

True, but there are many other options for them in between doing a 6-month arena tour and playing casinos. Just because Rush might decide to play more live shows in the future, it wouldn't mean they were destined for the latter. They all have enough pride to keep that from happening. Neil probably never even steps foot in a casino unless it's the only place in town where he can order a whiskey. Edited by TexMike

Hard to tell but you could be right. I just think that if they were to stop touring completely at this point it would be a good place to stop. We don't want them to become a joke or to start seeing their musicianship decline any further.

I know what you mean. R40 was definitely the best of the tours I'VE seen and there is something to be said for going out on a high note. On the other hand, I think R40 showed they can still more than deliver the goods at their age and that they're also still able to reconnect with the old school Rush that a lot of us have been missing. So I'd love to see them crank out one more progressive (and better sounding) follow-up to CA along with a few more scattered live shows before calling it a day, but I doubt that's going to happen. Neil is probably content with R40 being a sort of storybook ending.
