I love Ged's shirt here, I have seen him wearing it in other pictures. Wonder where he got that?

Definitely not. I'd guess that was 1977.

I bet he'd never wear a shirt like that now :D

It's in the Metal Evolution documentary series that Sam Dunn made that they show on VH-1 classic. (The tee is on someone else! ) Seems like they were promo items for Stiff Records, an indie record label in London during the 70's, and yes, that was their marketing slogan! :P

The other photos where Ged has it on seem way before 1984 ???

Okay thanks, I figured from the way Stiff was written on the shirt it must mean something. And yes, I think the other pics of him wearing it are all from the 1970s.

And Ged must like Juicy Fruit gum ...

I was thinking the pic was from around '79-'80, but not sure. Based on his "giant unit" there I am guessing '79.

Here's a little info on Stiff Records

Founded in 1976, Stiff Records was at the heart of the new wave, bringing the world artists as diverse as Elvis Costello, Kirsty MacColl and Ian Dury and what is generally regarded as the first ever punk rock single, New Rose by The Damned. The label set the yardstick for music business marketing, with artwork by Barney Bubbles and an array of memorable slogans, not least “It It Ain’t Stiff, It Ain’t Worth A F***”.

I've seen a bigger photo of this. Maybe Lorraine can weigh in on whether I'm right, but to my 1970's trained eye, it looks exactly like he's putting Max Factor Erace cover up on a pimple! :P It came in a little tube exactly like that.

Yes but why is Ged hovering in the background like something out of a horror flick?

And very determined or concentrating or something. I keep thinking he couldn't have been standing exactly like that or he would have fallen over, but the camera's angle makes it a really interesting photo.

Yeah it's exaggerated but he did do a lot of leaning backward when he played back in the early years.

Yeah he did. A lot of those guys in the 70s did. Look at KISS back then.
