fraroc
Who do YOU think was the better violinist for the band Kansas? If you've ever heard me talk about Kansas, then you'd know that I personally think David Ragsdale is one of the best violinists ever. I know that Robby was responsible for writing the violin parts for most of Kansas' well known songs, but I feel like David just perfected all of them. A lot of people say that David Ragsdale is more of a southern/country fiddler, but I honestly don't hear it....If you've heard him play, you'd obviously be hearing a lot of neo-classical elements to it. Robby has a very ethereal and almost otherworldly sound to his playing while David has more of a classical tone. Also, David plays guitar during Kansas' heavier songs like Icarus (Bourne On Wings Of Steel) and Sparks Of The Tempest and is pretty damn good at it. EagleMoon
Robby by a long shot. He was the more creative musician. Edited August 28, 2015 by EagleMoon

The Cat 3
Robby Steinhardt...his style was a better fit for the classic Kansas songs...not to mention, he is a great singer.
