Jacob's Ladder

Another great ending

I think the end to Jacob's Ladder brings the entire song together perfectly ...

Like a great movie ending, it is the point when you realize the extent of the greatness you have just experienced

There are so many!

La Villa Strangiato

Limelight

Headlong Flight

Clockwork Angels

Freewill

Between the Wheels

Xanadu

Chain Lightning

Available Light

Anthem

And I'm leaving out a dozen more, I'm sure of it.

Tia Shan would be tops but they are quite a few more that would be close seconds... :)

¿Quién es esta Tía Shan? ¿Es de la familia de Ged, Al or Neil?

Wait...are you saying you don't know all Rush songs???? Ludicrous!!! You should make a topic about this to confess for your sins.

Power Windows has so many cool song endings. I remember listening to this album for the first time and thinking that other bands would perhaps fade out the song, while Rush always seemed to come up with an inventive way to end.

Grand Designs, The Big Money, and Territories are great examples of this.

Marathon is another.

Lamneth

La Villa Strangiato

The Trees "By hatchet, axe, and saw!" That's a damn good ending right there.

I was also going to mention TFOL. Took that huge storyline and closed it out very nicely, to match the intro. Well done, boys. :)

I'm surprised you guys are missing a very good one so far.

"The Main Monkey Business."

The great thing about the end is the way they finish the tune. Especially with Neil on the crashes. It's like they are exhausted after playing that song.

Neil actually explains the ending in an interview.

Fukking brilliant.

Let me add The Camera Eye....the song length, tempo changes and intensity leads into that easy smooth slow synth fade is just perfect for such a great song. Instead of a sudden up tempo ending.

There are so many, I've always loved the fade out on Red Barchetta. One I've noticed recently is the fade out to Digital Man, it really starts to kick ass, as you yanks say, towards the end of the fade out.

MalNar has a clever ending as well.

The Spirit of Radio (love the keyboard part at the end )

Are you referring to the repeated note?? My friend and I always joke about how that's Geddy's "proudest piano"
