Blue J
Outside of the rock world, Jaco Pastorius (RIP) and Stanley Clarke were two virtuoso bassists I loved. Agreed! I would also put Charles Mingus on that list, no question.

1-0-0-1-0-0-1
Geddy Lee ( :rush: ) No one even gets close to Geddy as bass player! Geddy is awesome. But John Entwistle, Chris Squire and many fusion bassists (Stanley Clarke, Jaco Pastorius, etc.) might take issue with your statement.
grep
GeddyGeezerChrisJohnJPJCliff -Cliff did a lot with simple grooves, and he had a sound and attack that no one else had. That's why he's up there on the list. When I was considering playing 30 years ago, he was just as much an influence as Geddy.
