So I'm thinking about going "all in" for tickets for this show, namely because this is probably Rush's last concert. Being that it's not their nature to have a big to do about it and that they refuse to say with certainty this is it, I lean to nothing special happening for this show. On the other hand, it's LA, it's the last show of their tour and in the back on their minds they probably know the last show together as a band, so I'd think we'd see....something? Other then a couple added songs of course...

Thoughts?

This is in no way the last show Rush will ever do. The only special song they will play will probably be Losing It. They won't be busting out anything they haven't played at all this tour unless they've been somehow rehearsing a song at sound check that has gone unnoticed which I seriously doubt.

The only thing I think might be different, is when they finish the last song.  Will they take a little extra time to bow and wave?  Soak up the adulation one last time?  If they do, then I think this is it.

Honestly, there are about a hundred other Rush songs I'd rather hear in LA than Losing It.

LOL, I honestly I have no idea why that song is so revered. And I love Signals. It's my fave Rush album. There are at least 5 other Signals tracks I'd rather hear than Losing It.

I have heard rumblings that the Forum gig will get an outta the blue shocker one-time-only deep cut. I've even heard what it might be. Hint. C.P. ;)

Hmmmm one thing I noticed...on you tube the Philly final farewell sounded more "final" than when I saw em earlier in Atl....Geddy thanked Philly..like caught himself...thanked PA..( being from Pittsburgh I noticed)...and in general...it just sounded...more...resigned? I guess?

1.  I will be surprised if we get a song not played elsewhere on the tour.  There's no rumors of them sound-checking anything, and it just doesn't seem like them to just wing it.
2.  I've mentioned before that Audrey Solomon lives in LA, and would be a great choice to play violin on Losing it.  I'm bringing my "Just Here To See Audrey" shirt, just in case.
3.  I was wondering this week if Neil will take the opportunity to come to the front of the stage after the show and bow.  I'd like to think he could graciously accept that applause at least once.  If he doesn't, that's his choice, and I don't have any problem with it, but I think it would be nice from a fan perspective.

My prediction is the band ends the show almost like every other show , some waves and a "hope to see you again sometime the road". They have hinted in more than one interview that this might not be the end of the road as far as live playing goes. As for playing a surprise song not performed earlier isn`t very Rush-like either , but if there's one tour they actually might do it this tour is it.

They may play "Losing It" thats it, no additional songs although some other musicians could make a special appearence.

Keep an eye out for their families that night.  If this is truly THE END, I would think maybe they would fly out for the show.  Even Geddy's Mommy.

Unless, of course, they are all so thankful it is finally all over, their attitude is more along the lines of Bette Davis' towards Leslie Howard in the old movie Of Human Bondage:  "Good riddance to bad rubbish!"

:)

Are you sure? :)

Time will tell. ;)

Haha. If Neil comes out to take a trio bow with Ged and Al, I predict a lotta fanboys crying on this forum. :)

Luckily, no such thing will occur.

But one last deep cut outta the blue?

Possible. :)

i can imagine how you would feel that he is, but i don't find him a killjoy.

If his posts disturb you and what you are thinking will happen with Rush in the future, you can always put him on ignore.

I do not intend my post to be mean - just offering a suggestion of what you can do if he bothers you.  :hug2: :hug2: :hug2:

Also, CTM, don't be a stranger on the forum when the tour comes to an end.  I've enjoyed having you around CTM and would miss you if you disappear suddenly.

Well, the good news is, we only have a few days left before these premises become a lot less crowded. I won't be coming back after Friday evening. No need for visits to a fan forum after Saturday.  So breathe easier, ye keepers of the flame. Your online hopes will soon be unfettered with nasty realists. :)

It would be cool to find out what famous people will come see the show since it is LA and the last major tour concert they do. Other than a special guest violinist (Ben Mink if the band is fly people out). It would be cool to have them do a final setlist of every song played during the tour. Though I dont think it will Happen.

Bard, I know you think you know it all, but sometimes you state things so bluntly without really telling what you (may) know. Let those of us who still want to dream in your opinion just dream :) That's also what being a fan is about. I know that sooner or later they'll 'quit their jobs'. But if two out of three are not completley done yet who knows what might be in store. With or without Neil in tow :)

And, what you're leaving TRF after Friday evening? You just give up? It's still fun to hang around here   Yes, even when they're done (touring).

Maybe just Losing It. They don't know what the future holds so they'll just play it as usual.

Now hopefully at Irvine, they wi take requests from the audience and play until midnight!

If they play "Losing It" in LA, I will be very happy. I saw three shows so far, and I saw each set. Just saw A in Vegas, I saw B in Boston and I saw C in Chicago (how lucky can a person be?) and this will be the one song that has been played on the tour that has eluded me. So I am hopeful (but NOT discontent). :)
