WHAT!?!?!?! ANOTHER FAN?!?!?!

Erm...it's pretty much every album haha...I adore everything.

I have a very strong bond with The Remote Part and Warnings/Promises.

I also love their early punkier works, and recently I found Everything Ever Written to be far greater than I first thought after it came out last year.

One of my favourite bands for a good 6 years now.

I have the live DVD that came with the deluxe version of their best of album

Yes i really like them. Dont know how you feel, but for me, their music and emotions come across as very very sincere. Very warm band.

A lot of music I listen to doesn't have this quality, its rare I suppose for me. I do think 100

broken windows is a little overlooked classic. Remote part is very strong too. It has some really great songs.

100 Broken Windows is their most celebrated album amongst fans. It deserves it. I sometimes enjoy Hope Is Important a little more though...

But yeah, warm band, sincere, and I have never heard an Idlewild song that I do not at least like. They are really special to me, as I get older they become even more important. Recently Live In A Hiding Place has become my go to song as I battle a few very difficult issues.

I honestly cannot quote express what this band means to me. I love them with all my heart...they really touch me.

Impossible task, but these 20 certainly are all in my permanent top 50 no matter the day:

In absolutely no possible order:

Iron maiden

The Clash

Bad Religion

Midnight Oil

The Coup

Admiral James T.

Drive By Truckers

PJ Harvey

OK, I'll give it a try & stick to 20

Top Tier:

RUSH

Porcupine Tree / Steven Wilson

Zeppelin

Pink Floyd

Yes

King Crimson

Approaching Top tier:

Tool

Opeth

Rounding out top 20:

King's X

Jam band I dig, jazz artists I follow, obscure metal bands I obsess over...) ugh Van Halen, The Police, Sting, Supertramp, damn hard to draw the line at 20...

It's really interesting to compare your own list to others - I can see I have a lot in common with some (Union 5-3993 and Pip65 in particular) However, even on those lists there are bands that I just don't care for at all (as I assume there are some on my list!) Others, there seems to be just a few common threads and then lots of nope. Yet, here we all are on a Rush bulletin board...
