Detonator
I tried to search and I didn't find one single topic for Rush cover versions. So it's about time to open one. I'll start. Here's a 7-year old kid, Avery Molek, drumming Tom Sawyer. Love it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MR_x_vrSZBM Edited June 30, 2015 by Detonator

[media[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2y0hKk4YHXo[/media] You know, this is the first I am even hearing of this cover. So I went to YouTube intending to listen and to read the comments (which I already knew would be priceless). I just could not get myself to hit that "play" button, but the comments were pretty funny. :)

Detonator
Avery Molek, the 7-year old kid,.plays YYZ here: It's not perfect but pretty good. Avery's comment:"This is a crazy hard song to play, Neils drumming is so amazing! Rush is now one of my favorite bands!"
toymaker
Detonator, if you're interested, here's a link to a similar thread I started last year (I limited mine to established bands covering Rush tunes; there are others, as well). http://www.therushforum.com/index.php?/topic/89977-rush-song-covers-any-good-ones/

At any rate, a database of Rush covers by signed bands would be kind of cool. Big job - not up for it myself! toymaker
I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. This kind of singing always makes me think of the Muppet show. Edited August 12, 2015 by toymaker
JohnnyBlaze
Here's Nelly Furtado's infamous Time Stand Still. I just could not get myself to hit that "play" button, but the comments were pretty funny. :)It was the worst Rush cover I've ever heard. It sounded like the theme music to some shitty 80s teen tv drama...especially the "freeze this moment..." part: I imagined the crappy, teeny bop actors/actresses giving their signature pose smiling to the camera as their real names flash. JohnnyBlaze
Jacob Moon's (I think that's his name) acoustic version of Subdivisions is pretty good. Rush themselves were impressed. That's the highest praise possible
