Xanadu is a song that there aren't enough superlatives worthy to describe its greatness.

It is the classic of classic songs.

Had Rush never recorded another album after AFTK, there is no doubt in my mind that they would still be remembered and applauded for AFTK.

AFTK loses to CA. The amount of epic tracks on CA puts it on top.

The Anarchist
Carnies
Halo Effect
Seven Cities Of Gold
The Wreckers
The Garden
BU2B
Caravan
Wish Them Well

How are any of these more epic than A Farewell To Kings, Xanadu or Cygnus X-1?

As for CA's title track and Headlong Flight, how are they more epic than Xanadu alone?

As for songs like Carnies, The Wreckers, BU2B2 or The Garden, how can they top songs as classic and timeless as Cinderella Man, or Closer To The Heart?

And as a segue to the next track, come on, their is now way that BU2B2 tops Madrigal?

Seriously, there is absolutely NOTHING on CA that outdoes AFTK.

You go well overboard with CA, and when it comes to the greatness of AFTK, so do I!
Hey why can't you just be respectful of my opinion? All you do is preach CA bashing

Dude...I responded exactly how you do to us ALL THE TIME, and also...if there was a book club style Rush meeting, this particular debate I think could be really fun!

Seriously dude...I was genuinely suprised (but remember, I voted CA over FBN and almost did so for 2112...I even stuck up for it in mine and Mick's thread lol).

But seriously dude, AFTK is the one Rush album above all Rush album I will defend to my grave, and any offence you took from me is not intended.

And considering you deleted the rest of my last post, that sole line when taken out of context makes it sound a lot worse than I actually meant it too.

Dude...what is the point of polls if we only give but cannot take? There will be more than one album from me to get outvoted by CA.

I think on headphones CA comes to life...

CA a decent album with a bunch of fine songs, but requires a full bottle of excedrin to listen to with the phones on.

Kings is a timeless masterpiece.

I wish I were allowed to comment on these two with respect to current Rush news, which would put this thread into laser focus, words chosen carefully...but Admin and mods have their rules.

It is timeless.

Okay, so I should probably give a bit of input here.
A Farewell To Kings=Magic, genius, insta classic, Xanadu, Broon, best Rush album of all time...the list goes on
Clockwork Angels=Insta classic, loud, Headlong Flight, awesome, late career giant...list goes on

A Farewell To Kings wins.

Playing AFTK as I type.

There are currently only five Rush albums I deem perfect: AFTK, HYF, MP, Hems and VT, but if there was only one f these five I could take to a desert island, AFTK would be it.
