If I may wade into these waters...

I've always thought of these albums as cousins- both criminally underrated. And I think Bastille Day and Headlong Flight are more closely related than any other two songs in the Rush canon.

But as brilliant as so many of the moments on Caress of Steel are, I still favor Clockwork Angels- just by a nose.

Headlong Flight is a song I think could have sit comfortably on an early Rush album...love it! Bastille Day more so, but its a win win whichever song you prefer with these two

My thoughts exactly...top three seventies Rush for me, after AFTK and Hems respectively.

I love that song...Stevie Nicks...mmmmmm....

Back on track, it is a mighty special album! Better than 2112 for me, but that is only because 2112 has a notably less impressive (but still very good) second side. This one is gold from start to finish!

That's interesting that you like it better than 2112. 2112 is such an epic, but it's just been played to death over the years.  CoS was kind of the poor little stepchild back when it came out.

Side one of 2112 bests all but one CoS song (Bastille Day is one of my major fave Rush songs).

But CoS gets my vote for better album. My experience of 2112 rarely passes the epic...

But CoS to my humble egomaniac ears is superior by the widest imaginable margin.
You're a gas-huffer too I see

Can you ever be respectful to an opinion not your own?
Furthermore, you're statements are mean't to be provocative...because they're so ridiculous they demand it. It's why we post.
you have a wicked sense of humour...maybe it goes over my head and I read too much into it (if I do sorry...I mean that)
You do...and you don't have to be sorry. It's ok. I tell you what let me give you some cupcakes in the documentary trailer

Wow.

But I respect your opinion, CoS from what I've gathered divides opinion like few other Rush albums.

Regardless of this forum, CA gets a lot of positive reactions from the media, so to the best of my knowledge the disdain towards it is in the minority. Which is nice for the band.
