Well, now that you mentioned it ... I like distorted guitar tones but have modified and or built several functioning guitars out of spare parts and custom made wood guitar bodies with new wiring.

This is a good enough place to put this extended exercise and even though long winded, I think it's a worthy enterprise. I only wish that I had the resources to post pictures of the finished results.

Way back in 1992, I rented half of an old loading dock area and set up a sheet metal shop. The building used to be a General Motors plant that was opened in 1928 to produce 6 cylinder Chevrolet cars, producing 150 cars a day until 1930 when the market crashed and the economic depression ensued. The plant reopened in 1931 and along produced Oldsmobiles until 1941 when the Canadian government took over the plant to produce materials for WWII and renaming the plant Regina Industries Ltd.
There were several other renters in my section of the 370,000 square foot warehouse. My area was 1200 square feet.
