Yet another Classic Double IPA from Alpine Brewery this time with Galaxy hops - 10.5% almost zero booziness.

Yes - it's quite amazing - You get all the citrus and mosaic notes without the obvious alcohol.  I was mistaken it does not have galaxy hops -

Have you tried Oatsmobile yet?  Another winner from Bell's.

It's a quality brewer that can make a 10+ abv brew balanced and not a one note beer.

After many years of her drinking Miller Lite and other various versions of beer flavored water, the missus has now developed a liking for Shiner Bock.  She wanted a beer to go with a botana (tortilla chips, meat, beans, chilies, etc.), so I gave her a taste of mine and actually liked it.  Thank God the local TW has the stuff in  6 packs of cans.  Think I'll down some now!

I was in the Bay Area (San Fran) this weekend and had a couple pints of Anchor Steam.  I had forgotten how good it was.

I love Anchor Steam.  Anchor Portor is pretty damn good too.  Fritz Maytag makes some good beer.

I love Smithwicks. I first had it at the Ohio Renaissance Festival a few years ago and it has been one of my favorite beers since.

Beer Week here in San Diego.  All 150 plus breweries in our county put on a show like no other.  Every night breweries take over most of the bars and tap rooms in the city to show off their new creations.  Last night we were at the IB pub House.  Belching Beaver had 15 of their best including this one below.  Belching Beaver Bourbon Barrel Aged Damned - Double IPA 12%   Simply amazing, it is made with 80 % mosaic hops..  No alcohol taste at all one of these hit me in less than 10 minutes.  Right behind it was a Passion Fruit / Watermelon IPA on cask.  A 7.3 that drank like a Saison 4.5 smooth as fruit juice.  Below is the bottle the Pub is going to open on their one year anniversary and share with us in December.  They have two of them.  Nothing like St. Bernardus ABT. 12

BYW, I thought of you last night while walking the Strip in Vegas.  There was a street performer playing some incredible bass jams that you would have appreciated.  :)
