new Sabaton album on august 19th.

I think I have a vague idea of what the lyrical content will be and what it will sound like

I liked the last one a lot.

Was disappointed they weren't the Wembley support for Nightwish.

They are such a fun live band. They were great when I saw them open for Nightwish last year. Their songs are so fun to sing along with but they're not a band I can go through long marathons of listening to.

I can imagine it would be tough to marathon them.

I like everything I have heard, but I need them in small doses.

Exactly.

The funny thing about Sabaton is they dress like so many industrial bands. Looking at them I would not have guessed they were a metal band.

I saw Symphony X live last night - easily one of the top ten concerts I've seen. Russel Allen is a beast, and Michael Romeo kicks a$$!!! I'll post my usual crappy cell phone photos here later on.

I'm so glad to hear they put on a good show! I saw them here last year and while they seemed to be good, they were playing in a venue that is notoriously bad for sound and that negatively affected the show. The next time they tour this area I plan on travelling to another city to see them at a better venue.

It´s totally worth it. To this day I haven´t seen a frontman so in control of his output and stage presence. Russel immersed us in the story of Underworld, and it included a theatrical performance on his part, but without going over the top like the new Dream Theater concept album.

Verona NY is pretty out there. As much as I love AIC, I'm not sure I feel like driving 2-3 hours

new Sabaton song. Sounds exactly like fans thought it would :o

Just throw your fists in the air and sing along with the epically catchy chorus like you always do.

As long as they remain a fun, consistently enjoyable listen, I doubt anyone minds!

Amon Amarth are in the same boat: GIVE US WHAT WE WANT! As long as it's fun!

Although I always hope for a Sabaton masterpiece that blows us all away from start to finish...

I thought Sabaton gave us their masterpiece with The Art Of War.

Its still not what I would call an all time great...I am hoping for something that will REALLY put them on the map.

I might be wrong, but they still a little lost in the crowd, but slowly rising to the top.

In America they could use something to raise their profile a bit. It seems like they're pretty well known in the metal community though. When I saw them open for Nightwish last year a big portion of the crowd was really into them and singing along with everything.

But I thought they were kind of popular in Europe. Don't they get top billing at festivals over there?
