Opera Crashed And....

Maybe someone here can help me since my husband isn't very much help.

On Saturday, when I was trying to copy a funny picture to include in one of the spoiler threads, my Opera crashed. I got it back, but then noticed a bit later that my emails were all gone. The only way I can access them is by going to the main account page. The emails won't load into Opera at all, and I get no notifications.

Does anyone here know what happened and how I can fix it?

I don't understand your question.

We use gmail, if that is what you mean.

If by "browser" you mean our Opera page, then yes - I read email in my browser.

About a half hour ago, the page froze and I had to log out of Opera and come back in. When I came back in, all of the emails were there. Then they all disappeared again.

Sounds like either you've got a bug on your computer or the Opera program has got a major problem.

Would it help if Opera was reloaded?

I don't think it is a bug, but it very well could be.

Actually, it happened when I was trying to find a picture of an old lady knitting. I was going to stick it in at the beginning of the Austin thread on Saturday. :laughing guy: I don't know if you read the thread that had been started by someone who was at St. Louis who said that during intermission, he turned around and a woman was sitting there furiously knitting away. :laughing guy:

Right I did. Funny! It might help to reload it. Did you delete the picture? You might've downloaded something with it.

I couldn't get it to load here, so I deleted window. The only thing I did was copy the link for the picture so I could paste it here, but TRF wouldn't take the picture. It happened during the second time I was trying to do it.

I'll tell my husband to reload Opera.

I've never used Opera before, but generally when a browser acts funny like that and continues to do so, I just reinstall it. At that point it shouldn't be hard to get back whatever's missing.

Maybe I can do it myself. I no longer have the patience to wait for my husband to decide he feels like doing it.

Can someone tell me how to do it?

The more I read this, the more I'm laughing.

Lorraine is an interesting and quirky character...

:smoke:

Not unlike me. I would be in her shoes many times over if I didn't have a brillant 24 year old in the house. Good luck Lorraine and I feel your pain. Been there even with a genius for a son. He is very busy snd can't always help me... :hug2: Here ya go. Best I can do. Hope the others can get you through... Edited by Narps

Good news!

They all suddenly reappeared after I rebooted the system.

Hahaha

Everyone can sleep well tonight.

Ah, yes. Old Faithful, the system reboot!

i wish I had thought of doing that this morning.

But, better late than never.

Wish all life's difficulties and problems could be solved like that. :)

Hollywood has tried to bring reboots into the "real world" for decades!

Most things can be fixed by a reboot or just a regular boot to someone's backside. :D
