So I'm watching this new dvd video about all the hard rock and shit from 1975 to 1985!

They are showing rare footage of the Sunset Strip back in 1978 and they show a Rush "Hemispheres" billboard on the Strip! It's INCREDIBLE!!!

I picked it up for 13 bucks sealed. Go find it! I know you Progheads love Dokken, Great White, RATT, Metallica, Y&T Armored Saint and Quiet Riot!!

RUSH ON!!!!

Thanks buddy! The dvd was INCREDIBLE!!

There was another Rush sighting in the video! Lot's of love for Yesterday & Today! WOW!

Remember that Y&T opened for RUSH on the GUP Tour on the East Coast.

That always pissed me off as Y&T was a West Coast band.

I could have seen Rush and Y&T together back when I was 16 at the Cow Palace. Sadly I can't even remember the opener for Rush on the West Coast. Gary Moore or Steve Morse Band is my guess!

CHEERS!

RUSH ON!

Did you know that Van Halen opened up for Y&T three times?

Motley Crue opened up for Y&T as well.

What a trip! Poor Dave Meniketti. One of the greatest guitar players in the world and never made it.

Hey did you know that when Gene Simmons was laying down demos for Van Halen he wanted to steal Eddie Van Halen from VAN HALEN. Even back then they were sick of Ace Frehley's shit and wanted Eddie instead.

David Lee Roth told Gene and Paul to FUCKK OFF! Diamond Dave said that he would never let Gene and Paul steal his guitarist!!

All of this is true. It's on the dvd!

Crazy shit!

CRAZY FROM THE HEAT!

Damn I missed out on those L.A. Daze.

METAL RULES!

When Van Halen was billed up with Y&T Dave Meniketti remembers going outside of the venue to get some fresh air.

He heard Eddie complain "when are we going to get a record deal????"

Well a year later Warner Brothers signed them.

When you say billboard do you mean an actual billboard on the strip or was it one of the ads on the top of the Tower Records building?

Not that it makes a hoots worth of difference, but I'm curious ;)

It was a real billboard! It was an amazing ad.

I never knew Rush was getting big time advertising on the Sunset Strip for "Hemispheres!"

The artwork is a trip!

Take a picture of your TV from your phone and post
