So Mick,initial thoughts on Fortress??

Exellent........very hooky and melodic.

Shattered my negative picture of them for sure.

Mick

Don't do what i did and expect to find Creed underrated.

No. AB rock. Creed plain suck.

With creed i still have like war flashbacks to 97.

Ewwwwwww.

With AB They had quite the job coming out of Creed.

The debut is a wondrous thing...Myles had NO IMPUT on the writing, it was very much a continuation of Creed, but already the seeds were sown for something much greater...Blackbird comes along and wows everybody...ABIII comes along, very overproduced by darkly wonderful, and no one thinks of Crreed.

Fortress comes along and all anybody could think about was Alter Bridge, and they sold out Wembley...FOR THE SECOND TIME!

Bruce Springsteen's Working on a Dream received a lot of acclaim, whilst Lucky Town and Human Touch get flack.

Fans are dumb. WoaD is likeable, but ultimately beyond mediocre.

I have a soft spot for the truly generic Surprise, Surprise. But aside from that, those who think this is a great album prove themselves to be deluded fanboys convinced that anything and everything The E Street Band touches is classic.

Nope...this is one of the three worst Springsteen albums, and two of them are E Street records.

I have tonrant because my goodness the reviews this album received were insane!

Never heard WOAD. Also I really don't like his 90's records. but just so you know. i've warmed greatly to what i consider his classic run.

Greetings through Tunnel Of Love.

Still need to warm to Nebraska though.

Finally bought the Springsteen remasters today! Greetings through to USA.

Many give remasters flack, but considering none of The Boss' albums have ever had perfect production, these were welcomed ecstatically!

And you know what? They sound better than the original vinyls. Never thought I'd say that, but they do. Well done to all involved, I not only feel like I am hearing these for the first time all over again, but I have fuel for months and months of annoying posts!

i'd start with Fortress, jus' sayin'.

While Fortress is an excellent album, I would recommend Blackbird to a first time listener. But Mick likes Fortress, so I guess all is good. Blackbird seems to be the favorite album of both the band and most of their fans. If you dig melodic hooks and great guitar work, Blackbird will not disappoint.

Maroon 5 have an excellent vocalist, tremendous hooks, and are really fun.

About time one of us admitted it.

My son loves Maroon 5...they are possibly his favourite band.

Knee deep in Zappa........and don't see myself emerging anytime soon. the Scope of his music is amazing. not all of it worked but he wasn't afraid to take it all on. Avant Garde, Blues, Rock, Hard Rock, Jazz, Doo wop, Some Metal touches, Country, Spoken word nonsense rants. You name it.....it's all there. As i say.......it didn't all work.........but man.......i respect this dude probably more then any musician........expect maybe Tom Waits.

And so much music to choose from.......EVEN AFTER HE DIED.

it's insane.

Some of my favs.

We're Only in it for the Money.

Freak Out!

Burnt Weeney Sandwich

Weasels Ripped My Fleash

Apostrophe

Zoot Allures

Zappa Live In NY

I love a lot of Zappa's music...but for some reason his weirdness, just some of the really strange stuff he did, sticks out in my mind more than anything else. And consequently, I end up not really listening to him much.

But yes, there are some absolute classics. Zoot Allures and Weasels Ripped My Flesh are probably my fave Zappa records.

Yea his toilet humor can turn people off. Among other things lol. but it only intrigued me......because he did in it in a such deadpan way...ya know?

My uncle was fortunate enough to see him......he says it's still the best evening he's ever had.
