Summer is nearly here, time to listen to the B52'S

Recommended Posts

B52's a massive guilty pleasure for me, just love what they do. Cosmic thing is a classic album - all the hits, sheer summer bliss in audio!

Still have Cosmic thing on Vinyl from 1989, so many great songs.

Follow your bliss!

Awesome band.

All the hits are great of course, but..

WE'RE IN THE BASEMENNNNNNTTTTTT!!!

And Party Out of Bounds' beginning is still their best.

*Broken Glass* SURPRIIIIISE!!!!!!!!!!

Hell, I even like Funplex.

One thing I think that gets overlooked a lot is how their drummer basically up and quit playing and took over all the guitar work after Ricky died. That is a very huge jump from 2 completely different instruments.

I kind of love that there's all of this unexpected B-52's love on a Rush fan forum. :)

Have you seen this? It's them live at the Capitol Theatre in Passaic, the same venue that gave us the amazing 2112 footage. That whole site is wild, so many great bands.

What's really amazing is way way back then the girls were EL OPPOSITO in the looks category.

But it's been all Kate for what, 28 years running.

I live 5 miles from, what was once known as, the Capitol Theatre. Seen many many bands there ( Genesis, Rush, The Rolling Stones, The Who, The Police, Argent, etc. ). I missed the B-52's in 1980 ( I was too into my career around that time ). The Capitol was a porno theater when there were no musical acts playing.

Here's the history of this fine establishment. http://www.capitoltheatrepassaic.com/
