I admit I know nothing about the band. Heard their name mentioned a lot. I was wondering if there were any fans here? They will be performing in Anchorage later on this year. Wasn't sure if it was worth checking them out or not. Any thoughts?

I love 'em. Jane's Addiction (1987), Nothing's Shocking (1988) & Ritual De Lo Habitual (1990) are all great classic albums. They really stirred thing up in a very good way when they entered the scene... Edited by Na na na

I enjoy them, but can't stand watching the singer. Musically speaking, the guitarist is outside the box. Talented player

You should go troutman. I really like Ritual de lo Habitual and Nothing's Shocking. NS is probably the better overall album.

If you find you like them, check out the Porno for Pyros debut album. Perry Farrell is on vocals, and it sounds a lot like Jane.

I agree. If anything, you'll be glad you don't have a shitload of tattoos and body piercings afterward.

It's good stuff Troutman. Besides, what else would you be doing?

Fishing!

I will probably go. I don't go to many concerts these days. Not a lot of bands that I prefer come through here that are worth paying for. But I miss going to see more live shows.

I've never seen them live, but they're interesting. If you're not breaking the bank, or really juggling your calendar, why not?

Pearl jam, nirvana and soundgarden get mentioned as the breakthrough bands of the indie rock/ grunge movement, but Janes Addiction broke pretty big a few years earlier . I remember been caught stealing get a ton of play on MTV when it hit. A revolutionary band of that era, who don't don't get mentioned enough IMO.

I saw them livre at the Soundwave Festival, can't remember if it was 2009 or 2010. I don't listen to them much at home, but they sure as hell put on a great show. Definitely worth checking out!

It would be interesting to observe a younger crowd. If I end up going I hope its not too crazy.

Most Janes fans at thy is point are north of 35. Shouldn't be too crazy...but, again I don't know how you guys party up there :smoke: ;)

I'm personally a huge JA fan. Seen them at least a dozen times and would go a dozen more given the opportunity. Check out the epic song 'Three Days':

Is that the album with the song - I think it's called - Pets? That's a cool tune.
