Books I've read over and over again include lots of Twain and Poe, plenty of Garcia Marquez' stuff, James Joyce's Dubliners, Tolkein's works, The Brothers K, Widow for One Year and other works by Irving, Hemingway (Old Man and the Sea, Steinbeck (Tortilla Flat), Brave New World...and lots of short story anthologies and poetry collections (in English and Spanish).

I watched my favourite movies several times and upgraded them from VHS to DVD and now some to Blu-Ray.

And I enjoy them more and more. I think I still have quite a good memory, so it's not a matter of not remembering plots.

In any case, I'm not worried at all about a possible future memory loss: hey, waking up one morning with thousands of basically new albums and recorded shows ?????

For me, I absolutely love Westworld. I could watch that forever. I have never gotten bored with it. I can't tell you how many times I've seen it.

Me too!!!!!! Yul Brenner is fantastic in this!

Absolutely! :D There's one line specifically mentioned near the beginning: "I don't know what to do if the stagecoach is late" :P

Little facts:

The Gunslinger's acid smoke was a combination of Alka Seltzer and something else. Yul Brynner wasn't feeling too good that day, and he took Alka Seltzers too.

James Brolin had a broken leg having filmed some other movie beforehand, but he still rode a horse in Westworld.

Richard Benjamin was thrown against a back wall so fast that everything collapsed around him and he was surrounded by cables; not seen in VHS and DVDs, but in Blu-rays.

I have the DVD, Blu-ray and Steelbook versions.

Are we talking regular movies here, or porn. :outtahere:

Just kidding. The only ones I've watched more than, say twice, are This is Spinal Tap, the Monty Python movies (all of them), Hoosiers, and, of course, Caddyshack II.

Says the video is not available. In fact, none of the 10 parts are. :sigh:

But to me, it's a great movie, with the best actors, but beset by a lot of financial problems and removed scenes.

Ps, I also have the book that was in script form. I got it around 10 years ago, shipped from the US.

Wow, we have the same taste in movies pretty much. Add Brazil, Raising Arizona, and Solaris (1973 Iron Curtain version) and this could be a list by me. I could also add Gattaca and Hugo. And The Planet of the Apes (original). And Some Like it Hot. And ... too many to list but you got a lot. Good call on The Incredibles and Ratatouille (because of my toddlers, I've seen this over twenty times, maybe thirty); now that the Cohen Brothers and Terry Gilliam are past their prime, Brad Bird has become my favorite director. I'm always amazed by The Incredibles.

Edit: any list of mine would have to include Carpenter's The Thing. I'm not a big horror movie guy (at least not the slasher or torture types) but I'm a sucker for sc-fi horror/monster movies. Alien, The Thing, The Fly -- what a trio.

There are tonnes of films I enjoy rewatching, but most only over extended periods of time.

Musicals I can watch whenever. My favourite being Dreamgirls.

Hitchcock movies never get old.

Disney animation...in my blood, I never tire.

Books...well I reread all the harry potter books last year for like the tenth time, and I just started them again (I am on the second already). Never tire of them. Too special.

Kingdom Of Heaven, Blade Runner and virtually every single Miyazaki film cannot be absorbed in one sitting.

I could easily sit and watch the director's cut of KoH once a month forever and never tire of it.

I don't watch many films and there are only a few I can think of that I have watched more than once or twice. Those that spring to mind are ; Forest Gump, Local Hero, Picnic at Hanging Rock and The King's Speech.

Similarly, there are few books I have read more than once but I can listen to music I love over and over again.

James Cameron and Ridley Scott are two great director's whose work I like the least I still really enjoy (although I really hate Avatar...the only exception).

Boo on Avatar. It is a little predictable but it's awesome in every other way. I can watch that over and over.
