NaturalScientist75 Posted March 28, 2015 Share Posted March 28, 2015 Hi everyone. When I was down and out, Rush friends, most that I had never met in person, helped me. So I want to pay it forward. I pitched some ideas to some of my Rush friends online, and they came on board, and even pitched some of their own. So we have a few projects we are working on. And I would love for some of you to join us. I have Donna on board, and some other names you will recgonize. Also 50+ FB groups and Cygnus X-1 and RIAB. Time is short and we need ideas to make the projects better. And I know a lot of you, and would love for you to help out. We have a formal comittee and a FB group made to give us one place where we can all discuss this. Anyone want to join please contact me 1. A gofund to help get people to shows. Some people can't get to a show for reasons beyond their control. And we are trying to help them. Anyone can donate. You can donate to the fund itself or to a specific person. (Yes we are getting Lorraine to a show.). And anyone can apply for help, just message me. For the applicants that are ok with it, I will share their names and stories so people who donate can see exactly who their money is going to. 100% of donations will be used. We are not keeping anything. We are refining this project more and more and appreciate any input you have for making it better. We have already raised money. 2. A petition to RROHF and/or Rush themselves (we are working on this) to get get handicapped people that would otherwise not be able to get there, to shows. This idea came from someone that can actually get the word to them. And we have several people on board now that can. 3. We are trying to get as many people as possible to do the same thing at the same time during the shows. We can show Rush how much we appreciate them, and how much of a family we are. One thing a lot of people are doing is wearing kimonos. So if you have one and are willing, wear one. Different things are being done at different shows, but the point is unity and showing our support. Any ideas would be welcome. 4. I made 35 FB meet-up groups, one for each show. They are the equivalent of the hot-tubs here. I would love to join forces with TRF hot tubs and work together. 5. A FB group for buying and selling tickets. Rush has given us the best music and lyrics and experiences for 40 years now. And the fans have given so much back to Rush. They are epic. So now we are trying to do something epic. We are trying to get every Rush fan to a show. R40! It may or may not be the last tour, but after what Rush has done for us, and how much we love them, we owe it to them and each other to try and get as many people as we can to shows. So I started a generic GoFundMe account for EVERYONE! Anyone that needs a ticket, ride, etc. just let us know and what your story is. You will be placed in the list. Anyone that can afford to donate to help a fellow fan, feel free to do so. We have a committee which includes many of the admins on Rush groups and some prominent members. As the time approaches, we will go through all the applicants and vote and distribute the money. The more we get, the more people we can get to shows. We are one big family. A lot of people on here aren't on Facebook so can't really look at the links. People are hesitant to donate to something that they're unsure about.
