Turned on to Rush at about nine or ten and never looked back :)I was in my late teens and very vulnerable but I went the Rush, AC/DC (Bon version), Yes, UFO, Priest etc route instead...Those KISS lyrics sound like they could be a young Narp on the prowl... Narp's a madman, a big babyAnd he's lookin' for a sleazy ladyHe wants a good lookin' woman who better be goodHe was distant, now Narp's nearerYou can see his goaty in her make-up mirrorThe lights are out and Narp can feel her backside with his hand :smoke:

EagleMoon
It just goes to show you how many people were taken in by make up and a stage show. I was but a lad in the 70s. Close to the perfect age to be completely taken and captivated by the spectacle. I never understood it myself. I had friends that liked them but their music just didn't appeal to me at all. They were sub-par musicians cashing in on their stage show.

I wasn't really asking for a list. I've heard a lot of Kiss songs but none of them ever struck me as being "catchy". They were nothing more than mediocre, and if hadn't been for their gimmick, they never would have been any more than a bar band.

I never had any connection to Kiss or any of their songs, but hearing More Than A Feeling makes me instantly remember the first time I heard it: I was at my best friend's house and we were in her older brother's room. The album had recently come out and I he was playing it. I've loved that song ever since.

You don't know for sureYou don't feel right, you can't find a cureAnd you're gettin' less than what you're lookin' for You don't have money or a fancy carAnd you're tired of wishin' on a falling starYou gotta put your faith in a loud guitar [Chorus:]God gave rock and roll to you, gave rock and roll to youGave rock and roll to everyone (oh yeah)God gave rock and roll to you, gave rock and roll to youPut it in the soul of everyone "Now listen"If you wanna be a singer, or play guitarMan, you gotta sweat or you won't get farCause it's never too late to work nine-to-fiveYou can take a stand, or you can compromiseYou can work real hard or just fantasizeBut you don't start livin' till you realize -"I gotta tell ya!" God gave rock and roll to you, gave rock and roll to youGave rock and roll to everyoneGod gave rock and roll to you, gave rock and roll to youPut it in the soul [instrumental break] God gave rock and roll to you(to everyone he gave the song to be sung)Gave rock and roll to you, gave rock and roll to everyoneGod gave rock and roll to you(to everyone he gave the song to be sung)Gave rock and roll to you, saved rock and roll for everyoneSaved rock and rollchorus repeats out... "I know life sometimes can get tough! And I know life sometimes can be a drag! But people, we have been given a gift,we have been given a roadAnd that road's name is...
