hunter
Well, not really but I found this interesting:http://news.2112.net...er-details.html So I searched out the images by the photographer from the original cover and put this together in photoshop.http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e372/biffmalibu01012/Permenent%20waves%2005.jpg I think the analysis in the link above is wrong concerning the picture with with buildings on the right that were used for the Lee, Peart, and Lifeson signs. He says it, "...was taken from down the street and to the left looking back towards the granite markers."I believe it was taken from the same location as the bath house photo; the photographer is just turned more to his right and the Pleasure Pier is visible, which is those very buildings used for the boys' names.I know, I know, I have waaaay too much time on my hands. :codger: Edited March 25, 2015 by hunter

Maestro
It's True: While researching Permanent Waves for a project of my own last year, I learned of the photograph which had inspired Hugh Syme's artwork for the LP. I assume half-responsibility for the image of the 'Original Album Cover' posted above; after a bit of digging, I unearthed the original photograph Syme had used, then superimposed the first image of Paula Turnbull that Syme had rejected (above) upon that photograph. Someone other has come along since and added the Dewey Defeats Truman misprint and the building marquis in the background. http://news.2112.net/2009/11/permanent-waves-album-cover-details.htmlhttp://www.flipschulke.com/collections/hurricanes/

And that's the original buildings in the background without the bands names on the marquis. Still looks like it says Peart though. ;) I think it says Pearl.I'd be interested to see your comp of the photos if you still have it. toymaker
I love long hair, but I think the shorter hair on this model suits her much better. (I'm also rather a fan of necks.)
