I have that fuckingg RED book autographed.

I should find it and burn it.

I see that Sammy is losing his ass in the restaurant biz.

What a cock.

He should just retire and live off his 80 million he made on that shit tequila.

Mas Tequila!

The guy is a better businessman than a musician. JMO

The first Montrose album is EPIC

His solo 70's stuff is great.

Eighties?

Standing Hampton yes!

I like both eras of the band equally, and consider myself fortunate for that.

As for the upcoming tour...just like always, a gazillion dates and not a single show in South America. Such a shame!

I think I'll make the trip to Birmingham, AL to see this show. I really think this will be one of Eddie's best tours. He seems to be in a pretty good place right now. Not so sure about Dave.

Eagle!

Back in the day I hypocritcslly loved 5150.

I played it all summer long.

I was a senior in high school.

I've never grown up but I did grow out of Sam Halen!

Sorry!

I know some songs are great like All Fired Up.

Oh well.

I prefer All Fired Up by Fastway! Lol

I don't really agree that Van Halen with Sammy was supposed to be wanker rock. Isn't that the whole idea behind Eddie's playing? He's the biggest wanker player in the galaxy. Well, next to Yngwie.

I think Sammy Hagar in Van Halen was a fuckking joke!

Complete corporate pop crap wanker rock for teenaged girls in the mid Eighties!

Eddie Van Halen cared more about the keyboard than the guitar back then.

A disgrace

Leave David Lee Roth alone!

Sammy kicks major a**!!! :haz: :7up:

Blame Eddie for hiring him. :D

I'm one of the biggest DLR lovers in the world!

Sadly I heard s few of those live tracks off the new live album and was totally heartbroken.

Dave's voice is shot.

Of course I will still hit July 9th show.

It's in my backyard.

I heard Panama live the other night at work,

DLR needs to hang it up!

I disagree. I think Sam and Ed made a great songwriting team. The "5150" album was Van Halen's 1st number 1 album. I think that says something. Besides that, Sam has a great voice.

And a lot of the bate that Sammy gets is because The band was still called Van Halen. If they called it something else, people would be praising them, not criticizing.

That aside, I can't remember another band being so filled with short-tempered, arrogante a**holes like this one. Michael Anthony and Gary Cherone are exceptions to the rule...

Sammy singing Jump really sucks, but he did justice to Unchained.

I was always a Dave fan, by the time I got into VH, he was already gone. I saw Dave's solo tour live a number of times, and saw him when he toured with Sammy. His ego was out of control for that tour... he showed video of him doing karate on the video screens while Sammy was just there for a party, showing Girls Gone Wild and drinking margaritas. I saw VH with Sammy 3 times and enjoyed every show. I like Sammy's voice, but he was never "Dave". I finally got to see them with Dave and was pretty disappointed. Dave is nothing like he was, and it's not like saying "Geddy's nothing like he used to be." Geddy still brings a lot to the stage. Dave brought poor vocals, no traditional on stage presence, and he was down right corny - like a bad lounge act.

Yeah , from the clips I've seen on the last tour, I'm surprised Dave can't really do any of those kicks anymore. I know he's 60, but he was always in great shape.

I don't really care about the vocals. VH was always about Eddies playing and the groove. Alex is still in good form as well. Even back in their prime, Roth barely sang a lot of the time.

Sammy made Van Halen a band.

With Dave it was 'The Dave Drunken Variety Show' and his backing band.

What did the boys have something like 10 cover songs on the 1st 5 Albums??

They were essentially a very good bar band.

It cracks me up that people are so one- sided about Dave vs. Sammy.

I never hear people with the same hatred toward Bon Scott vs Brian Johnson.

Both are different both made great music...well Sammy's was better than covering Kinks songs over and over...

He ruined his knees a while ago, that's why he rarely does the kicks these days. His stage moves nowadays remind me of the Friends episode where Joey auditions for a musical but can't dance, so he resorts to the "jazz hands" trick.

Will Dave drive his Ambulance on stage?

I mean it was his occupation recently.

Who cares about cover songs? The greatest bands in the world perfected cover songs.

I think the Roth-era albums are so much more original and spontaneous than the Hagar-era albums. They seem more sincere and less calculated.

I've seen Van Halen twice since 2007 and enjoyed both. I'd see them again. I'd much rather hear them play a song like Atomic Punk than Why Can't This Be Love.

I hear ya !!!
