Here comes the Duke crowd...

1. Trick of the Tail

2. Selling England

3. Lamb

4. Duke

5. Foxtrot

Thats a decent list! I would probably have Duke at 6 or 7

Man, this is tough, and it changes on a daily basis for me.

1) Foxtrot

2) The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway

3 Selling England by the Pound

4) A Trick of the Tail

5) Wind and Wuthering

Some days Trespass bumps W&W for a top five spot.

. The 2nd half definitely. Mine is Suppers Ready.

My favorite from SEBTP is Epping Forest. Aparently Tony Banks was pissed with Peter came up with the lyrics for that. He wanted it to be instrumental

The math answer is

Phil Collins > Peter Gabriel

1- Abacab

2- Duke

3- The one with Mama

4- But Seriously....Oh wait, that was just Phil

5- Biko

1 Selling England By The Pound

2 Foxtrot

3 Duke

4 The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway

5 A Trick of The Tail

The first two are essentially a tie for me. Selling England edges out Foxtrot slightly because "The Cinema Show" is my favourite song by the band (though "Supper's Ready" is a close second).

I don't get the Duke hate! It's the last mostly good Genesis album, IMO. While I probably couldn't hum the melody to "Cul-De-Sac" or "Man Of Our Times, " The "Duke Suite" is a great bit of music. "Duke's Travels/Duke's End" is one of my favourite Tony Banks moments.

Lamb contains many of my favourite songs by the band, but overall I still find it kind of unfocused, over-long, and confusing. Still, songs like the title track, "In The Cage," "Back In NYC," and "Carpet Crawlers" are so essential I can deal with occasionally nodding off during side three (and cringing my way through "it").

I really like Trick of The Tail, though honestly I prefer live versions to any of the studio originals. The "Dance On A Volcano"/"Drum Duet"/"Los Endos" medley they closed shows with (from 77 until 81 I think) definitely benefited from the energy of live performance. "Squonk," too, is always so much heavier live. (Oh, and although I love him as a drummer, I think the choice of Bill Bruford for backup drummer on the Tail tour was a mistake. His style just didn't fit the band. When Chester Thompson came on for the W&W tour late 70's Genesis really comes together for me.)
