Eagle, get your bass out and play for us the part that begins at 3:22!  I just love that  part - him and Alex.

Wait..what?  What am I supposed to be playing?  :D

Geddy's little bass part!!  :)  Something about that part of the song that brings both tears to my eyes and puts a smile on my face.  Don't ask me why. I have no idea.  :)

Oh right! I love that part too. A neat little instrumental bridge.

Still would like to know what it is about that part of the song that always affects me the same way whenever I listen to it.

It's a circular journey through grooveland.

It's very inspired how they took it down very quiet at that point with the bass still grooving and the guitar is almost like a slap in the face...but in a good way. :D

I think it is the most musically complimentary moment between the two of them.

Another example of how Signals was well produced. Even though Alex's guitar is grungy with a lot of gain it doesn't overpower the music and you can hear each instrument very clearly.

Yes you can hear each instrument very clearly.

I think those are the happiest notes Geddy ever played.  The only other song that I think he dominated equally as well was Red Barchetta.

I agree about Red Barchetta but what about Hemispheres, Cygnus X-1, The Body Electric, The Analog Kid, Marathon or Mal Nar?

How embarrassing.  How could i forget Hemispheres and Cygnus X-1 even for a moment?

I'll go give the other four a listen right now.

Sure, any excuse...right?  :D  And only 4?  :)

Digital man (like signals) is very underrated, digital man is my 2nd favorite off the album. Great song

I don't think Signals the album as a whole gets underrated

I'm watching a bootleg video from the Signals tour (the Montreal fans sure loved them and were quite enthusiastic).  They just did Digital Man.  That Geddy sure had (still does) a sense of the beat at all times.

Those were the Rush days!

I voted the second option. It's okay. The bass is the best part for me. Now if you had asked about The stinking Weapon? That would've been a different story...

Eagle, do you have the bootleg Union of Snake Vol 15/ 10-12-2007/ Birmingham NEC Arena, England?

If you do, listen to Digital Man.

Is Snakes the tour he got the throat infection on?  If so, this must have been before he got sick.  If not, he sings the song almost better than ever.

No I don't have it, and I don't see it on YouTube.  (there's like a 40 second clip but that's it) He got sick during Time Machine, which is why the DVD was sucky.

That's too bad because I can't believe how well he sounds.  I'm listening to the show now.  He even did Freewill well.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that the bootleg sounds better than the official Snakes tour release.
