Geddy's little bass part!! Something about that part of the song that brings both tears to my eyes and puts a smile on my face. Don't ask me why. I have no idea.
Oh right! I love that part too. A neat little instrumental bridge.
Still would like to know what it is about that part of the song that always affects me the same way whenever I listen to it.
It's a circular journey through grooveland.
It's very inspired how they took it down very quiet at that point with the bass still grooving and the guitar is almost like a slap in the face...but in a good way.
I think it is the most musically complimentary moment between the two of them.
Another example of how Signals was well produced. Even though Alex's guitar is grungy with a lot of gain it doesn't overpower the music and you can hear each instrument very clearly.
Yes you can hear each instrument very clearly.
I think those are the happiest notes Geddy ever played. The only other song that I think he dominated equally as well was Red Barchetta.
I agree about Red Barchetta but what about Hemispheres, Cygnus X-1, The Body Electric, The Analog Kid, Marathon or Mal Nar?
How embarrassing. How could i forget Hemispheres and Cygnus X-1 even for a moment?
I'll go give the other four a listen right now.
Sure, any excuse...right? And only 4?
