Below is a song history of Rush concerts. And number of times each song has been performed in 40 plus years.

Not sure if it is 100% accurate, but seems to be close. Link at bottom of list.

Fascinating data. I apologize if this has been posted before. I think it's pretty cool.

Moments until someone points out mistakes or questions this list in..3..2..1.

Interesting list obviously the song release dates are part of the calculus but clearly parts 2112, SOR and Tom Sawyer get constant love. This list should be used when crafting set list guesses.

Another great Mopar engine post.

I thought the same logic on setlist building.

You have to add 10-12 of the top 15 to ANY potential setlist don't you??

It's the remaining 14 songs that are difficult

I'd love to see this list from the t4e tour forward........have to see if setlist.fm allows date ranges..............

I did my project. Any data analysis is on you LocalsBandGuy. :fuckinputer:

I know it's over the span of 40 years, but just THINK about the concept of doing over 1,500 drum solos...makes my bones and muscles hurt just thinking about it.

The fact that Spindrift has been played live considerably more than Middletown Dreams, Prime Mover, The Enemy Within, Presto, and Entre Nous makes me sad in the pants.

Fountain of Lamneth was never played live. Where and when does the source material say it was played?

I don't know of they ever played the whole thing, but I've heard that parts have been performed

What really pops off the page for me is how criminally underplayed the brilliant Entre Nous was in the last 34 plus years of touring.

I thought that was a huge highlight of the Snakes and Arrows tour (first leg). I hope they bring that one back for R40. Such a great song.

Yes, this is true. It was done in a weird kind of medley with the heavy parts of The Necromancer thrown in.

Interesting to say the least! Without seeing it right off the bat, what's the source for these setlists?

I'd love to see a thing where you can plug in the show(s) you attended and see the statistics by album, sort of like what Dave Matthews has on their one fan site... kind of a neat function!

Hell AND Tom Sawyer! That's no walk in the park drum part!

Do you have a source for this, because I've searched a few times and nothing I've seen indicates that the song had ever been played live.

The only source I have is that I was there. It wasn't played in it's entirety so I don't know if that counts or not. I don't think I've ever seen a setlist that showed that they opened with Bastille Day for that show either. But, they did and continued to open with it for the next (probably) 3 tours I saw after that.

I think the list is accurate according to setlists posted to setlist.fm. However, many of the earlier tours don't have complete setlist included on setlist.fm.

I think In The Mood is the song that has been played the most (after drum solo). It was on every tour through Presto. So, that would mean that it hasn't been played the last 7 tours. A song like Tom Sawyer was not played the first 7 tours. Those earlier tours had a lot more tour dates than the most recent ones. So, I'd be willing to bet that In The Mood has been played more than Tom Sawyer.

The Necromancer was definitely played live. Bootlegs exist with that on it. It was played on The COS tour and the ATWAS tour.

What was the date of that show? I'm getting very jealous.

I thought they'd never played "The Necromancer" live...

There's a very shitty quality bootleg of a performance of it on youtube
