Not that i hate Waves but........Hemispheres!!!!!

And anyway, I gave Hemispheres an 8. Isn't that worth something?

A box of Cracker Jack's. There's a free toy inside the package.

Keep your paltry gift. We're at war here.

I wanted to reboot this thread, as I believe I'm liking Permanent Waves more these days.

The thread also might get some renewed traction due to newer members, or people who just never chose to decide, the first time around.

Permanent Waves for me. I still love, love, love Hemispheres. But Permanent Waves has the edge.

I backed up this post with changing my vote, too.

So there. It is done.

Still love Hemispheres, no denying...it is absolutely without fault.

But what can I say?

Permanent Waves has left some stars in my belly...

They can't be compared, they're from two different decades :)

Hemispheres is my favourite Rush album, so have to vote for it.

I think I'm considered an odd one because my favourites have long been Hemispheres and...Hold Your Fire! (Yes, honestly).

But Permanent Waves, for me, is just holding an edge over Hemispheres right now.

Hemi....better than PW....better than 2112

There...I said it...bring it on!

You are in plentiful company, dude.

While all three are fantastic, I don't think you'll get much flak from people for that statement.

Hemispheres being my favorite Rush album, this was an easy choice. I love Hemispheres and I think that it is the pinnacle of Rush. It was the final of their insane prog-rock albums, and it is also their best. Permanent Waves is sort of an oddball as a Rush album, as it combined the prog rock (songs like Jacob's Ladder and Natural Science) with the tighter, shorter arrangements (The Spirit Of Radio, Freewill, Entre Nous). I like the songs on it, but it just can't compare to the mighty majesty of Hemispheres.

I like Permanent Waves, but I don't think it's nearly as strong as Hemispheres. I've never been entirely convinced by Natural Science, and Jacob's Ladder is a clunker.

Permanent Waves is eveything I'm looking for in a Rush album. It has my top 2 favorite songs and one of the weaker songs (Jacob's Ladder) just elevated a ton from the live treatment on the R40 tour.

So PeW is my easy #1, Hemispheres is in my top 4.
