What, no Milt Plum? And what about Head Coach Harry Gilmer, and his white 10 gallon hat the Tiger Stadium faithful used to target with their snowballs?

Need to discipline the assholes on their team first (Suh)...

Instead of stepping on the Bears and Packers, we'll be running away from them for touchdowns!

How about Potsie Clark, go back to the 30s?

And George Wilson, who was I believe the last coach to win with the Lions, and was the first coach of the Dolphins...

Not to mention Cloice Box, the WR who I believe had over 300 yards in a single game. And an even better name than Eric Hipple.

And here's a legend that Pat, LABT, and I all want to have back on our respective teams!

No worries! Suh is the perfect Raider. He will be ours soon!!!!

I can't believe Al Davis took JaMarcus Russell over the MEGATRON! If Carr had the MEGATRON the Raiders would be on their way!

Suh AND Lynch? The Raiders must have some serious cap space!

Yeah, that was pretty bad. Even Millen was smart enough to pick Megatron.

Mel Farr and Lem Barney!! :codger: :haz:

How about Mel's son, Mike Farr? He had five catches in the Lions' last playoff win, and seven the last time they won in Green Bay (both in 1991).

Lions G.M. “very optimistic” Ndamukong Suh deal is close

Lions General Manager Martin Mayhew wasn’t able to step to the podium today and deliver news of a done deal (as Arizona’s Steve Keim was able to with Larry Fitzgerald), but he did offer a bit of somewhat surprising news Wednesday at the NFL Scouting Combine.

Mayhew sounded more than a little positive about a deal for defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh.

“Very optimistic we’ll get something done,” Mayhew said. “I don’t have a timetable on when it’s going to happen, but I feel good about it.”

That would be a huge move, involving huge money for the Lions if it’s as close as Mayhew indicated.

Mayhew said the deal wasn’t done, but the “essential elements” were in place for a new deal.

Until we hear from Suh’s camp on this one, it’s hard to know how close they actually are.

But Mayhew stepped to the podium and brought it up unbidden, and sounded like a man with a huge burden off his shoulders.

Thanks for posting this. I hadn't seen it.

Seems like good news, but I'll wait until the deal is done (and until I see just how much they'll be paying him...) before I do any celebrating.

I'll be surprised if it's a done deal already, I would expect Suh to test the market before he agrees to any deal with the Lions.

I am sure the Raiders will be interested.
