Movies that should be made.

I was thinking that there are some old TV shows and books that should be made into full length movies.

Someday they'll make this into a movie:

Only they'll have to call it The Bionic Man because of inflation. ;)

Nevermind... might not be same story, but pretty sure the title was used to make a porno

I always thought that Petticoat Junction was a great premise for a porno. Maybe it has been done already. When I was a teen I used to think about the show that way anyway.... Bobby Joe BTW would have been my choice after Kate Bradley of course :fury:

A couple ideas I've had for years:

1) A society where assisted suicide is legal, and a "best friend" manipulates the main character to kill themselves over the course of the XX-minute drama

2) This would work better as a short, and the closest thing to it I know pf is "Psycho". It'd be a movie which presented itself as a drama, and a light hearted one at that... But during a 2-3 minute scene where two of the characters were having a conversation, there'd be a vicious looking clown staring through the window, which the characters wouldn't notice, even if looking through the window. It's just there or the audience's eye :)

As for adaptions... I don't really think about that too much. Gerald's Game by Stephen King really could use a film adaption though

Remake Harry Potter, the larger books in two parts at least, but in old-school animation with focus on character, plot and not only the visuals.

Keep intact as many subplots as possible, and pick a talented voice cast, not the latest big star names.

And keep Peeves. He was missed. And SPEW, the house elf kitchens, and for goodness sake make sure Goblet Of Fire actually reflects the feel and darkness of the novel.

War Of The Worlds. But in Victorian England.

Not a musical, but with a score adapted from the Jeff Wayne masterpiece.

And do not aim specifically for a family audience. The book is horrific. Keep it that way.

A Tale Of Two Cities.

The one Dickens novel that could become a major blockbuster, recent years have seen films like Cold Mountain, Australia, Les Mis and the like finding a devoted audience.

A really good script, cast and director could make this a movie for the ages.

But I reckon we will see another 360 adaptations of Christmas Carol and Oliver Twist before we see a decent one of this.

Why has this not been done yet?

Zombies, but they come to life at the Battle of Gettysburg, and well you know-

America is unified into 1 angry zombie fighting land.

Clearly, we need "Catcher In The Rye: The Movie" :P

But now back to reality. What if...we made some movies from concept albums that have been put out? Like Clockwork Angels! Or if we want to get really trippy, The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway!

Who'll play Steve Austin?

Be careful what you wish for-

Mr. Mark Wahlberg = Col. Steve Austin

Now let's all go jump out of a window
