Is this like all genuine footage, or does it just suck ass better than a vacuum cleaner?

No. "Found Footage" is a sort of sub-genre of film that's presented as if it were discovered film or video recordings, often left behind by missing or dead protagonists. Most notable film of said genre is The Blair Witch Project.

Please just wait until it's available for legal downloading so you don't fund the sequel, thanks ;)

Maybe I want a sequel...

Surely a 'found footage' movie would be more authentic if it didn't have any funding at all

So, this movie is getting good reviews. Did not see that coming. I'd still rather see this than Paul Plart, though. The latter is poised to make $15-20 million over the weekend with a ZERO on the Rotten Tomatoes meter. Stupid f'ing America. We have our own "Ass Movie" from Idiocracy making $15-20 more than it should.

Pity Rifftrax doesn't make fun of "comedies."

It seems like the next natural step for the genre...one that is always good for great laughs from me. When I saw Blair Witch on original release I went with someone who thought the whole thing was real. I had to talk her down after the viewing. :laughing guy: "But is said 'based on real events'!"

I'll watch it some time...late night at home.
