Last night in the States

Tonight's my last night at home before I fly out of Des Moines tomorrow to start my study abroad in Birmingham, England. Will land in Birmingham sometime around 7am GMT. Hopefully nothing will get delayed tomorrow in Des Moines or my connection flights in Chicago and Newark, had a pretty bad snowstorm here today.

It was nice to be at home for a few weeks after an exceptionally rough fall semester but I'm glad the date's here so I can get all the airport shit over with. This'll be quite an eventful next few days as I get settled in. I'm hoping my "adventure at Iowa State" is enhanced by this 5 month experience. I hope your body is ready, England, cause I'm about to enter you.

Perhaps I'll be able to meet up with some of you British TRFers!

Sounds like it's going to be quite an adventure. I would've loved to have gone to college abroad when I was your age. Hope you have a great time and learn a lot. :)

Welcome to England, BowlCity :ebert:

And since I notice you're 20, welcome to legal drinking a year early

(if you have any trouble with the Birmingham accent, let me know...I might be able to translate ;) It's a tricky one)

Hope you have a safe and rewarding learning experience. Take advantage of all the things you may never get another chance to experience. You're a smart guy, so enjoy it buddy.

Make sure to stop and see Big Ben and the Parliament...

The worst of the 3 Griswold classics but I love that part. Perhaps I'll run over Eric Idle on his bike. Life's a piece of shit when you look at it :D

Smart guy? Smarter than the average Bear would you say?

Oh God yes.... Not average Packers fan, but definitely average Bears fan.

Don't forget Vegas Vacation... just horrible. I think Christmas Vacation is my favorite of them all, then the original.

In the Des Moines airport right now. Flight just got delayed half an hour. f***ing O'Hare. I'll have an hour to get past the slow people getting off the plane and then pray to Fred Hoiberg that the terminal to Newark isn't on the other side of O'Hare.

Just be glad you're not driving to O'Hare!

My mother in law was visiting and we are about 70 miles to O'Hare... we left 3 hours before her flight and still didn't get there in time!

Good luck buddy! Visit as many pubs as possible. Each one has its own personality, and they are the best thing about England.

Made it to my terminal in O'Hare. Only took the plane half a f***ing hour to park...

Waiting to board my plane for Newark where I will meet up with the other Cyclones going over with me!
