I like to choose about 5 Songs to warm up with on my Roland TD 20 that cover a broad spectrum .
Currently:

War Paint or Presto (Rush)
Seven Days or Something a boy said  (Sting)
Secret Journey (Police)
Bring me down (Days of the new)
Second Chance (Shinedown)

I like to try and learn a new song every week or two. Butchering Dire Straits' Sultans of Swing this week. It's not going well so far, and I'm sure Mark Knopfler is wondering why his ears have been hurting all week, but I'm having a lot of fun.

I usually warm up with a couple of Rush songs ... Limelight, Dreamline, YYZ, Spirit of Radio.  La Villa Striangato, if I'm really feeling masochistic.

I'm having a go at Tooth & Nail by Dokken. It's a great riff but the solo takes a lot of work to get under the fingers.

Brian May is great indeed, likewise John Deacon.

I have been working on the bass line for Life's Been Good (Joe Walsh) which is really odd when it gets to the guitar solo. The rest is easy but there are phrases in the guitar solo that seem random, despite being mostly in A. Also been working on Won't Get Fooled Again, rather getting the rust off. Haven't played that for a while. Working up Voyager by Gamma and Still Got The Blues by Gary Moore.

Rory Gallagher - Tattoo'd Lady.

This is hard to get just right. It's only when you try & play his stuff you realise just how great he was. SRV's stuff makes me feel the same way when I try to play that too.
