9/10 Great song

Heres a little more traditional, but not as well known tune. This is instrumental on the harp. Lyrics are below

1. People, look east. The time is near

Of the crowning of the year.

Make your house fair as you are able,

Trim the hearth and set the table.

People, look east and sing today:

Love, the guest, is on the way.

2. Furrows, be glad. Though earth is bare,

One more seed is planted there:

Give up your strength the seed to nourish,

That in course the flower may flourish.

People, look east and sing today:

Love, the rose, is on the way.

3. Birds, though you long have ceased to build,

Guard the nest that must be filled.

Even the hour when wings are frozen

God for fledging time has chosen.

People, look east and sing today:

Love, the bird, is on the way.

4. Stars, keep the watch. When night is dim

One more light the bowl shall brim,

Shining beyond the frosty weather,

Bright as sun and moon together.

People, look east and sing today:

Love, the star, is on the way.

5. Angels, announce with shouts of mirth

Christ who brings new life to earth.

Set every peak and valley humming

With the word, the Lord is coming.

People, look east and sing today:

Love, the Lord, is on the way.

That was a nice video. :) I'll give it a ten.

Amy Grant: Grown-Up Christmas List

It was difficult for me to decide between this song and Breath of Heaven, but I had to choose this song. It's painful for me to listen to, because this album is from my childhood. My parents would always play it while I was helping them decorate the tree, and while we were just being together as a family... I don't have that anymore, so I wish this time of year would be over with. For those who aren't aware, my Dad passed away in 2012, and I lost the house my parents built together about six months ago, and recently, my Mom told me she has cancer. So, I wish the holidays were over with. Amy Grant was always my favorite as a little girl, because she reminded me of my Mom. Same curly hair and everything. :)

That story is sad and sweet. I hope you can keep those memories and pass that joy of the season on. My wife had a rough childhood with an alcoholic and abusive father and never looked forward to the holidays. Over the years doing stuff with our own kids, the holidays are now one of her favorite times of the year. I know the situations are not at all similar, but I wish this for you someday.

I'll say I'll give the Amy Grant song a 7, but your story bumps it up to a 9 :)
