Tom Sawyer
https://www.car2go.com/en/austin/what-does-car2go-cost/ What's the deal? Help me out here... I look at these rates, seems high. You ever rent one? Are you a munchkin?
Narps
I have seen these around Myrtle Beach from time to time. I was assuming that folks owned them....
Mara
Pricey, I agree, but I think they're cheaper than taxis (haven't checked cab rates in about 20 years), plus you don't have to tip the driver. Obviously they're not meant to replace daily rental.I guess if you need to go 8 blocks and you're in a time crunch and/or it's raining/snowing/unbearably hot (like in Austin, for example), it'd be worth it to some people hop into one of these motorized Big Wheels and scoot off. You wouldn't have to waste time finding parking either.

Citizen of the World
Very popular here. A lot of people here have moved into the downtown core and sold their cars as they can walk, cycle, or take transit anywhere they need to go. Car2go becomes a good option for them if needed as it is cheaper than renting a car for a few hours and as Mara says a lot cheaper than a taxi. Some people also use them to go to the bar and then take a taxi home so that they don't have to go and retrieve their car the next morning.
